For Pan-Pot's second release on their new imprint they fall nothing short of what you would expect from the infamous duo. 

"Grey Matter" is a stormer made especially for the intense peak time strobe lights of a dark sweaty club. The pulsing stabs and swelling bass in combination with the rolling hi-hats and shakers keep the energy flowing upward. 
Don't let the word grey in the title fool you, this track is more a burning red. Just like the deep ominous vocal says, "We're burning"!

On the flip side is "Substance“ and with this one, Pan-Pot showcase their vast knowledge of what tension can do on the dance floor. From beginning to end, it teases with builds that never quite go over the edge. Constantly increasing, it creates the desire for just a little more while never giving you the satisfaction of a resolution. 

It's a concept that only masters can make work and when it does, it's nothing short of brilliant.

Although Andreas Quiring and Frederik Laaser, better known as The Reason Y, are already main stays in the Berlin scene, it's our great pleasure to present them to the world as the most recent additions to the Second State roster with their stunning debut EP; 'Hide and Seek'.

Over the course of three superb tracks we dive deep into the heart of Planet TRY and explore a world ripe with stunning colors, rich textures and an abundance of life. It begins with the aptly named title track 'Hide and Seek' which takes place somewhere in a dark cavernous grotto as a light flickers in the distance. As you move closer the light grows brighter but without warning quickly vanishes leaving you lost and wondering. The light flickers again and the chase continues only to end the same way it began again and again.

If 'Hide and Seek' is a game in the dark depths than the next track 'Sumatra' is a ride through the rain soaked jungle under the full moon. While faint sounds of howls and mating calls echo between mud soaked footsteps, drops of liquid bounce off your skin creating an orchestra of organic enlightenment.

The final experience on Planet The Reason Y is 'SXF' and it's a farewell to the world just discovered. Glimmers of shape and color slowly come together to reveal the bigger picture; a floating gem amidst the backdrop of infinite space as the new world is departed. As speed increases and distance grows the once overwhelming new world new turns to a tiny pebble and slowly retreats into the pitch black leaving only the warm ambience brought on by new journeys. In the words of Hunter S. Thompson: "Buy the ticket, take the ride." and experience life on the planet of The Reason Y.

The Reason Y - Hide & Seek

Lighter than Waiting, the second track on the release is called "Easy." Centred round a held cord that rises to hold tension, a sparely used textured vocal washes over the mix and creates the impression of a large open space. Washed in stereo delay the hi-hats and melody part bounce from the left and fill the mix, whilst the ridged kick drum pounds to hold the groove of this epic monster.

Sidney Charles has delivered us an outstanding EP with a mixture of tracks that span across house and techno that has captured a real feel for what Sidney is capable of. Each one has its own unique flavour with Sidney’s production prowess sprinkled over the top. Each beat is chunky, groovy and works in a harmonious juxtaposition with the melodies Sidney creates. Featuring heavily on most of Drumcode’s shows due to his impeccable DJ’ing, Bart Skils is back with a new EP flexing his signature rolling sound and hooks. Caressing from one track to another, the use of pads in this EP and using uneasy sounds to build tension in each track. The swelling bass within each track manoeuvres the tracks into dark after hour’s territory with the help of the subtle percussion.

Tiger Stripes has delivered some heavy hitting tracks with his new EP on Truesoul. Each track has chunky drums that are laced with insanely catchy vocal hooks that keep the tracks and give them each a distinguishable character. The energy throughout the single is always kept up with the sweeping pads and stabs adding a dynamic flavour and showing us why Tiger Stripes is at the top of his game.

With his last EP offering on Keinemusik, &ME displayed himself once again as supplier of anthems that easily reconcile style with general floor purpose. You would think, such an universal and inexhaustible tune as this very “After Dark” can only be a lucky hit. But no, he’s knocking out the classic material just like that. Another example? Catalog number KM028, his brandnew “Trilogy” EP.
The titletrack on A initially places a synth arpeggio behind a kick that in dryness is hardly to excel. The beat of "Trilogy" is then seasoned with rimshot patterns until the saturated bassdrum comes in and paves the way to the dancefloor. &ME even refines his knack for stoic grooves on this jam and once again shows his sure feeling for suitable vocal features. Sabotas croon comes devoid of big gestures and still knows the ropes to appeal to the collective mentality of a clubcrowd.
On the flipside, “Woods” is living up to its name from the very beginning. Woody percussions are thumping within an almost subtropical scenario that’s frequently pervaded by mighty synth clouds. And once again, there’s an arpeggio sneaking in that at some point is taking the lead in this strictly instrumental affair. Add a break building that will educe a floor’s complete euphoric potential without going for the rather mindless escalation and there you have it: a B-side that’s actually more of an A-competitor.

&ME - Trilogy feat. Sabota (KM028)

Alan Fitzpatrick makes a triumphant return to the scene-leading imprint this August. The typically bombastic three-tracker of explosive, crowd-moving techno opens with ‘Love Siren’ packed with all the power and punch required to knock over festival crowds as it systematically builds and drops, this is one for the big open air stages. ‘U Said U’ is a massively hyped track that has been the subject of huge fan-demand since it first featured on Beyer’s Drumcode Radio in January. ‘Rumours’ wraps things up in slightly more understated but non-the-less effective fashion with its drawn out, tension building intro mushrooming into a crescendo of sleazy chords and sparking melodies.

Geddes is back on Truesoul with his follow up EP combining all the intricacies within his rhythms to create a flowing and creative selection of tracks that will keep the dancefloor swaying. With the help of Elli, the title track ‘On the Streets’ is a late night groover that has also been reworked by Richy Ahmed to take it down another twisted avenue. The rest of the EP still focuses on the late night vibe and does it with perfection keeping the subliminal guessing with every beat.

Shelter is our latest release from Clint Stewart and it's a benchmark in the catalog as it's the first time any of our releases have included a remix. And, for that remix, we showed no restraint, commissioning our very own, man of the hour, Stephan Hinz.

As you dive into the first cut off the EP, 'Shelter', you instantly begin to take an excursion into the ethereal. Shimmers of distant audible light flicker in the backdrop as a hypnotic pulse tightens its grip, strapping you in for a trip deep into celestial territory. Long single blasts of deep bass and racing percussion thrust you further into the void until you're far from your point of origin. 'Shelter' is a journey into the vast, ever expanding reaches of impassioned sonics ideal for deeper dance floor antics.

On the flip is 'L714' and much like 'Shelter' it's a cosmic ride, but differs in the fact that it is exceedingly relentless. Eery string like tones and massive low end bursts set the stage for a narcotic, swirling lead that parallels a comet hurtling through the ether. Bits of it falling apart and leaving a visible tail of particles in it's wake creating the ideal flip to 'Shelter'. Where both originals may have left something to be desired for those who want it heavy, Stephan Hinz fills that void. While staying undeniably true to the original 'L714', he adds only what he felt was missing. Taking the original to new heights with colossal drums and tension displayed with the arrangement of a cinematic masterpiece derived from another world. Overall, the 'Shelter Ep' is a complete package, hitting all emotions and leaving nothing to be desired no matter the time or situation.

Nick Curly is firing on all cylinders with this impressive two track single on Truesoul. Featuring on Adam Beyer’s Drumcode Radio Live show a number of times to great applause, both tracks are laced with a sprinkle of Nick Curly’s famous punchy drums. ‘Sleeping Dogs’ incorporates percussion and a funky bassline to great effect, whilst ‘Deep In My Soul’ is a hypnotic, rolling tech house smasher that will leave people wanting more.

 Adam Beyer's Drumcode juggernaut attracts more fans and critical plaudits with each passing year. Holding firm on its future facing ethos, techno's number one label presents a new volume in its acclaimed A-Sides series with 20 prime tracks to signify its 20th anniversary. 

Such is the volume of quality music Adam Beyer receives throughout the course of the year, releasing all of it would be impossible. Enter the blue chip A-Sides series: a chance for the quality-obsessive label head to issue a collection of outstanding tracks that couldn't fit in their regular EP release schedule. 

With an eye on future talent, as much as the label's established roster of heavy-hitters, the compilation showcases the full breadth of Drumcode's multifaceted techno sound, equal parts inspiring and functional. 

Led by the stealth techno funk of 'Nine of You', Beyer's deft collaboration with Mark Reeve, the compilation takes in exciting highlights from big guns such as Alan Fitzpatrick, Dustin Zahn, Bart Skils, Pleasurekraft, Luca Agnelli, Jay Lumen, Kaiserdisco and Gary Beck.

Moving to Germany from England 15 years ago in search of an inspirational scene that embraced his tough uncompromising sound. First discovered by Sven Väth Mark has since gone on to establish a reputation totally respected by his peers through groundbreaking productions on iconic labels such as Afterlife, Drumcode, Cocoon, Soma and many more. Fully established on the scene Mark has helped push electronic music forwards as a solo artist, while working with true heavyweights like Tale of Us, Adam Beyer and Pig&Dan 

Equally at home behind the decks and a mixer live as he is in the studio, Mark’s DJ sets have been been receiving fantastic feedback, with his talent and artistic vision taking listeners on a thrilling journey full of hard driving beats and intense melodies at dance floors around the globe such as Awakenings Gashouder, Space Ibiza, Fabrik Madrid or Rex Club.
