We never set out to start a band, our only goal was to find ourselves. Our situations found us rather, together at the right time and place, and the outcome was something we couldn't shake. This first EP is a collection of songs that came about somewhat effortlessly in a shack in the middle of the jungle using basic instruments. We produced and arranged everything back in our studio in NYC and the collection became a true culmination of our collective pasts embodied in a new shape that felt right. This EP is monumental to us because it comes from exploring musical places that we always wanted to hear but could never find, like an artifact waiting to be discovered. We wanted to capture the feeling of dusk, that moment between day and night where the possibilities are endless... and with this EP, we're a little bit closer

Wrote this song over a year ago while I was in Seattle. I was going through my first winter there and didn't really have any friends yet. I never had a reason to finish it, but when peter sent me the percussion it just fit so well. It's far from perfect, but I hope you like it!

Along the path of making music you really meet some remarkable people. And no matter how long you sit in a studio amongst keyboards, guitars, microphones, or any other random assortment of instruments, some journeys just come down to chance meetings. But we’ve been doing this long enough to know that there are no such things as “chance” meetings. Things happen as they do in their own time and place and generally at the moment that they need to happen. The Off Daze met Mayiia in Paris under the most unique of circumstances. We will save that wild story for a later date. Suffice it to say that the first session with her went SO WELL that we flew her in from Berlin, Germany and recorded an EP’s worth of material with her. Mayiia is magical. She’s made of galaxy matter and pixie dust. The songs we recorded with her are quite special. Find us on social media (@theoffdaze). We will share with you the story of our journey BEFORE, DURING and AFTER our “chance” meeting. Stay tuned!
