Photek Vs Source Direct '94 - '96 - 1hr Vinyl Mix

A month on from Conrad's passing I was reminiscing to the second Bukem and Conrad Essential mix and thought I'd upload. Equally brilliant and revolutionary as their first Essential mix, this one built on the impeccable selection of 1995 with another slew of dubplates highlighting incredible tunes that would come out of Good Looking and a few other select labels over the coming years. The tunes ranged from intricate ambient workouts like Jonny L Tychonic Cycle to deep amen batterers like Universal's Live Session (which was a little different and better on dubplate). Some took a little longer such as the lost G-Force Proximity tune that didn't surface till only recently. It's no exaggeration to say all the tunes on this mix were peak golden age, particularly Crystl Mindgames and Intense Only You...

Again, Conrad absolutely rules this mix from start to finish with total confidence and deep soulful lyrics - beautiful stuff from the leading master of ceremonies. A perfect mix for a summer's day.

this is the follow-up to the part one (obviously :)), recorded it mainly for two reasons: way too many missed brilliant tunes from sub-100th release era, and the unconditional love for the Moving Shadow, the era it represents and the way these tunes shaped me. consider it a healthy amount of nostalgia, the soundscape I fell in love with, and pushed me towards drum&bass in general. clever use of samples, old jazz/funk breaks, mellow rhodes, heartbreaking melodies, deep pounding subs... you know the drill.

recorded in the same manner as the other parts: two stanton st-90 turntables, a numark dm3001x mixer and two stanton sk520 cartridges. all vinyl, of course.
