THE SECRET BEHIND THE SECRET

It all starts in Jamaica where Mark Ainsworth aka Top Secret Music was born May 1967, Kingston. In the mid 80’s Mark started out as a DJ, aka Markie Rankin, exploding venomous lyrics alongside Lecturer, Captain Barky, & Professor Knots. Mark sees the opportunity to become a Selector, Sound engineer, Songwriter, Producer & instrumentalist. His uncle Chaka provides him with the Track Star Sound System, Studio and recording label.

Mark’s skill and talent started to attract 80's & 90's DJs like Bounty Killer, Buju Banton, Terror Fabulous, Shabba Ranks, and Beenie Man even the great legendary Lee Scratch Perry Situated in Washington Gardens visited and encouraged Top Secret Music. 

Mark steadfastly became popular in the Reggae Dancehall fields hanging with Deano, Jimmy Cliff’s son, and teaming up with Noel Parks, son of Lloyd Parks. 
Lloyd parks gave more exposure to Mark, by giving him outdoor P.A work, as in the flamboyant Reggae Sun splash and Sting working with artist such as: Gregory Issacs, Dennis Brown, Freddie McGregor, John Holt, Mighty Diamonds, Ken Booth Marcia Griffiths, Dawn Pen and many more.

Nevertheless Mark also gave extra spare time to leading producers like Earl from Aquarius Records with Charmaine label, Devon ‘D’, from ‘Peoples Records’ and Bunny Diamonds of Bad Gong label.

dd krantz is a drummer, DJ, and music producer with a passion for blending rhythms and sounds from around the world. Based in Ottawa, he fuels the energy of local punk rock band Lazy Bratz, produces and plays drums for the collective Soul-Hop Union, and collaborates with Ottawa artist Olimo. Before that he co-produced a pop record with under the project name Hello Vice and he played drums with Toronto’s indie band Human Magic, adding to his wide-ranging musical journey. From hip-hop beats to electronica, EDM, and raw punk rock, dd krantz thrives on crossing genres and pushing creative boundaries.
