ON and ON the Amsterdam based artist and events agency recently launched their new musical venture ON Records with an ep from Jeff Rushin & Nicole Rosie. 001 received a wealth of warm support and today ON returns with its new release from fellow Dutch artists, Doka & SHLTR. 

For 002 ON takes a trip to the south of the Netherlands (via Amsterdam). Doka is a name on the on rise. His uncompromising, relentless productions has already seen release on Wolfksuil and Android Muziq and he a regular on the Dutch techno circuit. 

Dub techno is the first love of SHLTR and his own production style also touches on ambient and electronica. Together the pair form an impressive partnership, melding their sounds and styles in perfect harmony to create two stunning original tracks in Skarn and Sovite. 

Keeping it Dutch, ON welcome Darko Esser in his TRIPEO guise on the remix of Skarn. The Wolfskuil and Balans boss has been blazing a trail with his ltd vinyl only Tripeo series and is now taking the act on the road. Here he takes Skarn on a beautifully powerful acid-laced trip that is certain to please.

'Hicky & Kalo are back on their own label with another wonderful EP that solidifies their foothold as one of the most promising duos in the progressive house scene.

Title track 'Borealis' opens with raw intensity and is riddled with emotion from the get-go. The track fuses a rolling bass-line, beautiful pads and scintillating synth-work, a combination that makes for an inimitable sonic experience.

The second track 'For Better Days' is built around two beautiful melodies that cross paths as the journey unravels, leading to an epic musical moment.

Closing out the EP is 'Echoes Of Our Passage', which delves deep into to soul and ignites the passion within. It delivers a fervent feeling of hope and invincibility stemming from the delectable melody.

This is a huge EP from the Montreal pair. Brimming with musicality, it brings an untamed emotion to the dance-floor.'

Influenced by the works of Brian Eno, Philip Glass, John Cage and Steve Reich, Marino has carved his own staple sound in the techno scene through a stream of solid releases. He has released on MOOD, Hommage and KmN and his fans include Adam Beyer, Nicole Moudaber, Adriatique Joris Voorn and Pan-Pot, and here makes his debut on the ever reliable Lost & found imprint. Fabric London owner, Keith Reilly, was quoted in an interview saying, "We all live in a world where we have instant access to the worlds most talented DJ's now. But every decade or so you hear someone, and you know there is something else, something very special going on. I feel Marino is that someone". We are treated to three tracks here, so kicking off with ' All The Right Endings'. a beautiful deep building journey, that locks you in to its magical groove. deep and infectious vibes flow, and then the key changing arp line adds an air of sophistication, as we travel along its melodious path. the track ends with an epic, almost orchestral feel as we are treated to a beat-less outro and a half! 'The Midnight Sun' is a Burning man style sexy little number. The simple arp is the backbone here and carries everything along, as spacious reverbs and pads arrive and disappear, all while you're locked under its mysterious spell. 'The Endless Fall' aptly closes this EP and is a deep and fantastical voyage, that effortlessly meanders through a dreamy wash of coolness. Subtle pads and fx add layers of warmth as this track develops. The melodics increase as we reach the breakdown and a treated to a pine tingling 'moment' for the dance floor.

For his first EP of 2020, Brian Cid returns to his Endangered imprint with Be One; 4 powerful tracks flowing seamlessly between melodic techno & progressive house.

Last year saw Brian Cid continue the development of his Endangered label with the release of his Light In The Lotus EP, the signing of upcoming talent from all over the world, the launch of a new VA series, and label-branded events held everywhere from Brooklyn & Miami, to Canada, India, and The Dominican Republic. After a recent EP on Audiofly's Supernature label, and a remix on Fur Coat's Odd:ity, Brian is back on his own creative outlet with Be One.

'Monocerotis' is the first track on the release, and starts it off with a brooding techno vibe. Multiple listens are required to decipher the brilliant layering of sounds weaving in & out, leading to a tension-building breakdown, and supported with a foundation of subtle tribal drums. The journey continues on more of a progressive tip with the second track, 'Cometas Y Cometas'. As with all of Brian's releases, a story is being told, and in this chapter the listener is made to feel like they're floating to the next destination with the dreamy vibe created here.

Following is the title track 'Be One', which is the origin of the concept behind the project. Brian explains: 'After experiencing a deep travel in my worlds within, I became One. One with my energy & sounds. Vibrations. On this journey, we are taking a ride where the atmosphere opens up as broken sky, and the rhythms of the land breathe deep in your body. A healing shower of sounds with a live, analogue and digital feel; a sea of possibilities.' 'Fill The Void' is the finale, and this story ends with a banger. Driving melodic techno, combined with synth work bouncing back & forth; this is Brian Cid at his deepest & darkest.
