It is one of the most anticipated Global DJ Broadcast episodes every year, and for many a highlight of the summer (no pressure guys!), where I dedicate myself to crafting a special 2 hour mix containing some of the most beautiful melodies and early morning moments that have graced the beaches and shores of Ibiza and beyond - the Sunrise Set.

After 3 months of preparation in ensuring that this would be a journey to remember and appreciated, I showcased it to the world on Global DJ Broadcast, and as requested by the fans, here it is for all of you to enjoy and stream at your leisure.

Hello again, with the final of your holiday gifts. Since an early age, one of the biggest loves and passions in my life has been the radio. In particular, I was so moved by the period between Christmas and New Year, when suddenly what day of the week it is didn't feel important, and this was reflected with all the stations playing classic songs.

My goal was to take this inspiration towards my own radio show, and the Classics Showcase has grown to become one of the most emotionally resonating and powerful episodes for fans each year, whether current, long-standing or lapsed.

Hope you enjoy the journey, and it's something you will want to download and keep in your collection for some time to come. Allow your mind to escape and let the memories flow. Wishing you all a very Happy New Year, and I sincerely hope that we get to meet again in person sooner rather than later. Thanks for sticking with me and continuing to believe in what I do.

Robert Gitelman - Live at ID&T Radio-06-12-2003 (Special!!!)

Before setting off on a European doubleheader for the weekend, Markus Schulz resumed studio duties on Global DJ Broadcast for another week. On the show, he provides In Search of Sunrise 20 mix compilation showcases from York and ZOYA's entries, as well as showcasing new music from Hel:sløwed, Dan Stone, Paul van Dyk & The YellowHeads, Tim Clark and more. In the second hour, Markus is joined by Daxson for the guestmix, which will include the world premiere of his upcoming single, Intuition.

Markus will play a special open to close solo set this Friday at The Cloud in Berlin, Germany; before setting off to Nottingham for the Trancecoda meets Groovebox event on Saturday. 

Be sure to connect with the Black Hole Recordings social media accounts this Monday, where the final DJ contribution to the In Search of Sunrise 20 box set will be revealed; with streaming of that mix available from Wednesday September 25.

SLAM are a tour de force on the global Techno circuit. The duo’s unique, 6 deck, back-to-back DJ performances and explosive live sets have seen them amaze clubs & festivals across the world. Pioneers and innovators of the electronic music scene, Slam’s Orde Meikle and Stuart McMillan are renowned for their experience and powerful, contemporary sound.

Their iconic Soma Records label boasts more than 800 releases in its 33-year history, including Daft Punk’s first singles and Slam’s own productions as well as many of today’s most cutting edge artists. Co-owners of Glasgow’s Riverside Festival, the pair also host the legendary Pressure parties and have a longstanding RTM residency at the city’s Sub Club, dealing out a monthly supply of raw, hypnotic techno.

In a season of surprises, the pivotal influence of the wonders of radio on Markus Schulz isn't one of them. The theater of the mind, the friend who is always there no matter what time of day or night. One particular aspect of radio which deeply resonates with Markus to this day is the period between Christmas and New Year, where classics and championed tracks dominated the airwaves. 

A few years after establishing his weekly Global DJ Broadcast radio show, a new tradition was born; where he would honor and cherish those special melodies and words through the Classics Showcase. This one in particular is extra special, as it marks the milestone 20th edition; meaning that there are now some 40 hours of Global DJ Broadcast Classics Showcase episodes created with the special one to one connection towards the listener in mind. Hopefully there is one particularly special melody or song in there that means a lot to you personally.

Among the highlights of Markus Schulz's Global DJ Broadcast offering is his dedication towards his special collectors edition themed mixes. Encompassing no less than seven different varieties, the middle of February is now home to the annual tradition of Deeper Shades. 

Now into its fifth year, Deeper Shades symbolizes the transition out of winter hibernation into the spring. Markus Schulz - Global DJ Broadcast Deeper Shades 2025 (2 Hour Progressive & Organic House Mix)

It's a special period for dance music fans and indeed the industry as a whole, as one of the biggest weeks in the calendar has arrived; with thousands of clubbers and industry members descending upon Markus Schulz's home city of Miami, for a host of major parties. Global DJ Broadcast was born initially as a one-off special for Miami Music Week, so it has always carried an extra resonance. For that reason, Markus heads to South Beach to curate a two hour mix of the biggest and important tunes emanating from the various parties, club and festival events. 

The show features world premieres of two forthcoming Markus singles - You Belong with Tim Clark and Linney (available from Friday April 18) and Get You Higher with Pavlo Vicci (available from Friday April 4); as well as Daxson's latest Transmission event theme, The Temple of Time (available from Friday April 11). 

The revival of Loops & Tings by Markus, Ferry Corsten and Omnia forms part of Armin van Buuren's A State of Trance 2025 mix compilation, with the full single available to support from Friday March 28. And if you are in Miami, you are welcome to check out Markus' signature open to close solo set performance for Miami Music Week, taking place at MAD Club in Wynwood on Saturday March 29.

Titled In Bloom to reflect the illumination of color as flowers blossom, the 2025 edition marks the ninth outing of this particular concept, and anticipation for its release grows with every passing year.

And following the beautiful surroundings of Bali last month, the World Tour travels across the Pacific and touches down in one of our favorite destinations, the Canadian city of Toronto; where last weekend Markus not only graced the Digital Dreams festival, but also took control of the official afterparty taking place at Uniun Nightclub. And it is the afterparty where our focus lands for the live recording. The big tunes have been played all day long at the festival, so it was time to head down that rabbithole on a journey.

Fans in Houston can look forward to seeing Markus this Saturday at Stereo Live, before a hectic time in Europe begins at Amnesia in Ibiza on Thursday July 20th, the Trance Energy stage at Tomorrowland follows on Friday July 21st, the Timeshift festival in Bucharest on Saturday July 22nd, and presenting the Daybreak session at Tomorrowland on Sunday July 23rd. And next week right here on the broadcast, it's our very special summer presentation, the annual journey of the Global DJ Broadcast Sunrise Set.

Markus Schulz - #GDJB World Tour: Toronto 2017

A very special edition of the Global DJ Broadcast for you this week, as Markus Schulz presents the next installment of our four seasons series - and on this occasion, celebrating the weird and wonderful of the rabbithole through the fourth annual Global DJ Broadcast Afterdark. Hello again, with the final of your holiday gifts. These past 12 months have led to unprecedented times and moments we would like to forget. So as we transcend towards a new year with hope in our hearts, it's more important than ever to reflect on years gone by, especially when so many of our life experiences are surrounded by certain pieces of music. 

One of the greatest loves in all my lifetime has been the radio; particularly listening between Christmas and New Year when classic songs from yesteryear would be celebrated. It's something I wanted to translate through my own radio show, and for the 16th straight year now, it is encapsulated by our classics showcase - reliving some of the greatest trance tunes of our era once again. or discovering gems you may never have heard before.

Hope you enjoy the journey, and it's something you will want to download and keep in your collection for some time to come. Allow your mind to escape and let the memories flow.
