Hello again, for the final time this year.

Presenting the first of two holiday treats for you (the second will be the GDJB Classic Showcase next week) - a special three hour journey for Afterhours.fm's End of Year Countdown celebrations.

Having a three hour timeframe allowed me the opportunity to really express the journey aspect of a set, being able to build things up slowly from the beginning. It's difficult to create one of these sets in a short period, and I'm grateful to have the opporunity to go beyond a normal length studio set to do so.

After about a month of digging, finding, compiling and editing, I managed to get the set completed during Christmas week; in between preparations for the open to close solo sets in New York and Miami.

It is a mix I hope that you will enjoy and appreciate for some time to come, and for those of you not attending a gig on New Year's Eve, it can maybe be your audio of choice to welcome 2015.

Big thanks as always to the AH.fm crew for allowing me to contribute to this yearly event. I think it's the ninth year in a row now that I've been involved. And as always, a huge appreciation to all of you for the love and support throughout the year.

Let's hope we have an incredible 2015 together.

Regarded as the European equivalent of Miami Music Week, the annual Amsterdam Dance Event festivities have grown to become one of the most important weeks of the year for clubbers and industry members. For Markus Schulz, the city of Amsterdam encompasses layers vital to his own career story. 

The Dutch capital has already been subject to a full city series compilation back in 2008; and when the concept of Markus' 2015 production series came to fruition, Amsterdam had many reasons to be considered. 

Moving from the peace of the canals, Markus' representation is a more nocturnal affair, in a city famed for its Red Light District. Made specifically as a liveset opener, the piercing stabs and throbbing bassline is overwhelmed with a spine tingling melody that turns the darkness into the bright lights of the stage.

Dancing in the Red Light will be an essential for Amsterdam and beyond.

Celebrating the premier indoor event for trance in the world in its home base of Prague each year, international Transmission ambassador Markus Schulz delivered his latest annual event theme as autmn turned to winter; harnessed through his audiovisual Dakota presentation The Nine Skies, and celebrated throughout with the emotionally driven piece The Spirit of the Warrior. 

Now, as The Spirit of the Warrior descends upon the second edition of Transmission Asia in Bangkok on March 17th, Markus' original interpretation is given a fresh injection of euphoria by Davey Asprey - one of the rising talents in the trance scene - and continuing his own excellent run of compositions such as Fallout and Fantome. 

A sharp hands in the air number, Davey's remix is set to reverberate beyond Transmission Asia, with the annual Miami Music Week festivities on the horizon. The Spirit of the Warrior will remain prevalent for some time yet.

Miami Music Week has arrived, with thousands of clubbers and industry members descend upon South Beach and unite for a plethora of events, meetings and parties. Hometown representative Markus Schulz comes to you live from the heart of the action this week, continuing the annual tradition of bringing a flavor of the conference to the Global DJ Broadcast listeners. Miami Music Week tends to be the place where some of the gems of the year are first unveiled, and that is reflected across the two hour mix Markus showcases, weaved across trance, progressive, techno and deep house.

The action is already underway, and Markus takes a little detour to Scottsdale to play at Maya Day and Nightclub on Friday, as well as Lizard Lounge in Dallas on Saturday, before returning home to close out the entire week of Miami festivities with a signature open to close solo set at Heart Nightclub on Sunday night. 

If you are in Miami, be sure to enjoy yourselves, and hopefully this will be a nice soundtrack to accompany your travels. And indeed to all of you, thank you for subscribing to the podcast and supporting each week.

Press Release 
After releasing his last EP on Sapiens as part of Agoria's successful REGENERATION DAY in May 2020 Mooglie is now back with another stunning four-tracker entitled ‘Aaliyah’. That last effort The 'Prelude' EP amassed more than a million streams on Spotify and was even supported by Austin Kramer who pitched him as the cover of the ‘Friday Cratediggers’ playlist. 

Mooglie is a Parisian electronic music composer who draws on jazz pop-rock new wave and Italo disco. He is a formally trained guitarist and bassist with a real musical diversity. He manages to combine the organic with the synthetic in hugely emotional ways and does that once again here.Opener 'Aaliyah' is a scintillating track with melodies that soar to the heavens while sleek drums make for a slick groove down low. It's an all consuming track that sweeps you off your feet and 'Illusion Of Us' then offers a more stripped back but just as emotional resonant vibe. The bass strokes are broad and melancholic and the pained vocals up top have a nagging sense of loss that really stays with you.'We All Out' is another stunning track that brings more crystal clear vocals to a taught electronic beat that is awash with deft synths and glowing pads. 

It's music that really brims with style and last cut 'Aludra' showcases another style this time with sombre bass and more subtle synths making for an intimate and pensive mood.These are four more expertly designed tracks that bring something fresh.
