I don't know if it's my age or just the season I'm in, but I am really beginning to give less f*cks by the day. 

Of course, some things are really important to me. If it concerns my child, it matters to me. If it impacts those I love, what I'm passionate about, my wellbeing, my business, etc... yeah, that stuff is important. 

You know what's not important anymore? What people think about me. It's like it left me overnight. I swear just months ago... even weeks ago.... I cared, and I cared a lot. But something shifted and I stopped caring. 

I know the grammar rodeo probably will want me to change my title, assuming I made a mistake with the phrase. But the truth is, I want to care even less. There are still dregs of caring in me, and I want them fully dissolved. 

I've spent most of my life caring too much about what others think, what others want, what others feel, and not at all about what I think, want, and feel. And I'm over that. 

On today's episode, I talk about this. I talk about my view of shadow work and the value I see in it....

I won't say how long it's been going on. I'll just say that far too long my life has been run by anxiety and panic. 

I know, it doesn't necessarily fit with the whole #empowerment thing, but why do you think empowering others is so important to me? Living in a state of constant anxiety and panic will definitely make learning how to be empowered a major priority. 

Today, I am so grateful for the work I've been doing to shift my "I am." I am beginning to recognize when how I am thinking and behaving does not align with who I have now chosen to be.

On today's podcast I share about my experiences today that showed me how much awareness is helping me shift AND I got to see that when I am not panicking and brewing anxiety I have clarity. I know what to do next.

Many of us would give our last dollar, or the coat off our backs to anyone. But when it comes to us, we often will not extend the smallest kindness. We have to start loving ourselves more. We get to give love to ourselves without guilt. 

We get to love our neighbors the way we love ourselves. And if the thought of that means we wouldn't give them much love, it's time to create a new habit of loving ourselves FIRST.

Sooo... I learned a valuable lesson, today. You know how I had that beautiful, blissful, aligned day, yesterday? I was hopping from beach, to beach, to lake.... I even did awesome fun things I didn't tell y'all about. 

Annnnd today.... was a different day. 

During the recording of today's podcast, I discovered the difference between yesterday and today. I started yesterday blissfully from the beginning. I got up early and started treating myself lovingly. I was up taking a bubble bath hours before my alarm went off. I was listening to my most empowering books and recordings. 

I started the day right, yesterday. Not so much, today. And the days reflected that. 

So guess who's about to go to bed. I don't need that lesson, again.

Today, I came to the realization that my life is so much more fun when I don't worry about other people's opinions or criticism. 

If I'm totally honest with myself, I have tried to do all I could to avoid criticism for most of my life and 1) I was still criticized and 2) I've missed out on so many things I would've really enjoyed and likely would've been great at due to that fear. 

So as I am shifting my "I am" statements—those internal rules about who I get to be, what I get to do, where I get to go and so on.... It's time to accept that I am whoever I say I am, and get to do whatever I decide to do, and go where I want to go AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, I get to not care what anyone thinks about it. 

I have my core values and ethics that will guide me toward doing what isn't directly or intentionally hurting anyone else. So I get to just enjoy my life and stop worrying who's watching, criticizing, or questioning my right to do so. Just the thought of that brings me peace. 

It's a little scary... but that's just habit. I've practiced being afraid of their opinions for a VERY long time. AND I get to form a new habit. And so do you.

Yesterday, I was talking with a dear friend about how recent life events caused us to notice that sometimes it seems we are preparing for events we didn't know were coming. For example, a friend may bring up a topic "randomly" that leads us to move forward on a task we've been putting off. Or we realize that if we hadn't gone to a certain place at a certain time, we would've never met a certain person who ended being needed in our lives decades later. 

Today, on the podcast I talked about this idea that maybe more of life is by design that we realize.

These moments cause us to think about how much is really random in this life and is there a deeper something going on that we don't even realize most of the time. Maybe it's something worth thinking about. Maybe it can bring a bit of peace to your experience... or just a bit of wonder. 

If pondering it feels good, ponder away. If pondering it makes you feel bad... feel free to leave this one alone. My goal is always toward inspiring, uplifting, supporting, empowering and encouraging so if you feel anything outside of those, maybe this one isn't for you. And that's okay.

On social media the title of this podcast is, "Don't Listen to My Podcast." 

Why on earth would I tell people don't listen to my podcast? Well, I mean, I would love for everybody to listen. But the reality is that everybody isn't my target. Everybody isn't aligned with my topics. Not everybody can handle my free spirit and cussing. Even my Dad was going to check it out, but I told him don't. 😆

I create for the people who are calling in what I create. I am sharing for those meant to find value in the words I share. I am podcasting daily for you, who may hear my podcast the same day, or in a week, a month, or even a year from now on the exact day, at the exact time that it's relevant for you. I do this for you. It's not about me. I enjoy creating so yeah that part's about me. But I created it for you. I'm talking to you, when I grab the mic. I'm trusting my words will reach you.

So, thank you for being here. Thank you for sending out the desire for this work so I get to create it. Thank you for helping me find my voice by giving me a reason to speak.

So....  today's podcast is about realizing that I don't want people to listen because they feel they're doing me a favor. I want people to listen for them and to gain value from what I create and share. A major shift has happened for me where I feel really aligned with knowing the value of what I offer and not needing the numbers to feel valid.
