When life is tempting you to spiral into anxiety, try going neutral. Don't be positive. Don't be negative. Just be and breathe. And stay there a while.

That's what I've been practicing this week. Miraculous things have happened. AND I've seen what happens when I go back to the default worrying, panicking and being p*ssed. 

I prefer the results of going neutral. This may be a life-changing decision. It's definitely something I'm practicing. And I love that when I find myself panicking, I hear my inner voice saying, "Go neutral." 

And.... this doesn't mean you don't handle your business. Sometimes you just need a minute for a calm head so you know the best thing to do.... so you can respond rather than react. Sometimes you do nothing, because you've already done everything within your control, so worrying, and getting yourself worked up, is pointless. So you just breathe and decide to not think negatively, or positively. Just be. 

Try it. It's kinda awesome.

Today, I explore the idea that we all get to do what we came here to do. It's so often that some people seem to be on this earth purely to support others, because there never seems to be enough time in a day for them to do things for themselves. 

I got curious about what might be behind that phenomenon and if it's possible that it is linked to some other events in one's past. As I worked through this idea... just talking through it, I came to some conclusions... or hypotheses... that have me thinking and ready to explore this further through some inner child work. 

I believe this episode was an intro and I'm looking forward to thinking through this some more and making it make sense... for me and for others like me who tend to show up for everyone but ourselves.

When Things Feel Hopeless

I never really thought about it before, but I now acknowledge that society trains us to mind everybody's business. And I'm honestly over it.

The older I get the more I don't care about what others are doing, and what others think about what I'm doing. Of course, being a "pk" (preacher's kid), I still have my moments of hesitation (or even initial judgment), but then, once I think about it, I'm back to "I don't care."
