THE CANOPY - ACOUSTIC

HOME (ACOUSTIC)

This is a version of Dolly Parton's song "JOLENE" that I made together with Hugo den Oudsten last year - who came up with the basic idea for the harmonies, drums and bass. Together we made this version and I added all the vocal stuff. We recorded everything at home, this is the first version, not edited or mixed at all :-) Just the idea and that's it. ** Enjoy! **

JOLENE

Last week for my radio performance at Sublime FM (Dutch Radio station) I was asked to sing this amazing Police song, one of my favourites, "Roxanne". I made this version of the song, played the guitar and recorded the vocals in my home studio (which is my livingroom and kitchen).

Stay - sneak snippet

Last month I was at a flee market and I found a very cute childrens accordeon that I bought. I used it for this song that I wrote (though you might not recognise it right away, it sound more like strings in the end). 
It's a new idea and (of course :-) still in progress. Actually originally I wrote this song not so long after watching the very impressive movie "Precious", it inspired me. I hope you enjoy this small part of the song! To be continued...

This is my version of Rihanna's "Stay" (written by Mikki Ekko and Justin Parker) - I played and recorded all the instruments (and a little programming :-) myself at home. Enjoy my version of the song!

Hi, here's another very small part of a musical idea I thought of, it's kind of film-ish. I like the mood and the sound and I actually used a wine glass for the sound you hear in the end of this small interlude. Recorded everything at home, it's all rough material.
