Fractus IV is a quadraphonic, interactive composition for trombone and SuperCollider, commissioned by ASCAP/SEAMUS in early 2012.

This is a fixed media piece in 60TET for computer-controlled grand piano and electronics.

In this piece several sound models are 'orchestrated' on the Disklavier which is treated like an 'acoustic synthesizer'. The 4 virtual pianos are used both as autonomous instruments as well as microtonal, spatial extensions of the acoustic grand.

It is a reflection on the identity of the piano as a Meta-instrument.

Ground Round was inspired by the unique sound of cattle auctioneers in the United States. Their chant presents specific rhythms, pitches, and cadences that serve to intensify the auction process and encourage rapid bidding. The end result is a uniquely musical and mesmerizing form of communication. After listening and watching several auctions, Steven decided that this could be successfully explored by utilizing the unique voice-like characteristics of the trombone in conjunction with the live audio processing.aThis piece employs live audio processing techniques via the Max/MSP programming language.

This mp3 is a stereo version of an 8-channel piece meant for 3D diffusion. It was composed using Csound. Cmask was used to synthesize the score and final mixing was accomplished using Sonar.

Darkcore is a subgenre of jungle (not to be confused with the more recent developments of Hardcore) that became popular in the United Kingdom hardcore rave scene in late 1992. It is recognized as being one of the direct precursors of the genre now known as drum and bass. Darkcore was a counter movement to the happy alternative that occurred at the same time — both styles evolving from breakbeat hardcore.
