Alright shoutout kyubi, fuh yeah. Get this girl some rep. Now for my takeaway: Neat pluggnb tune. Unlike others in the genre, this has a different mix approach of which the sub is very obvious but no intrusive. It's warm and acts as the drone foundation of the entire track. The melody is upbeat and pretty conjunct through, with a cute bell-like timbre. Though I have some gripes: It's slightly repetitive. Knowing kyubi, I know she can do more creative melodies, so slightly disappointing to see her debut doesn't showcase what I'd consider her strongsuit. Additionally, the drums could've had more presence, as they feel thumpy and lack the energy pluggnb gives me. All in, solid track, and even with the reptitiveness, the underlying foundation is above par. Thanks for supporting kyubi marluxe!

So when I was still in the cookie run community, I saw a video of a voice crack in one of the story voice lines, it was funny but after a while I left the community and yeah... after a while I come across the video again and this time I had an idea... I decided to make a track based on it and it was inspired by KEMARE & Resurge, I tired to put it for Shuttles TINT/SHADE Compilation & the label itself but it ended up not getting in... after a long while, I kinda forget the track until I needed some songs to release for this year. so yeah didn't know what label to release it in so I decided on Tonality. anyways still proud of this track and yeah, I hope you enjoy it and yeah I hope y'all have a good day :)

Tharn is the dub techno project of interdisciplinary artist Sam Ashton, originally from London and now based in Portland, Oregon. Best known for his ambient work as Fortresses, with releases on Dragon's Eye Recordings and Flaming Pines, Ashton brings the same rich sense of atmosphere and detail to Tharn.

Tharn's new EP, Reach, follows the debut EP Seek, released on Belgian label Crossfade Sounds in spring 2025, serving as both a sequel and companion piece. Where Seek reflected the winter gloom and constant rain of the Pacific Northwest, Reach opens into light: stripped down, immediate, and radiant, like sunlight breaking through misty trees, carrying silver linings and quiet optimism. Hushed field recordings of Oregon's forests thread through the mix, while ghostly, hypnotic vocal lines rise above sporadic dub chords and ambient guitar swells, giving the music a luminous focus across its two tracks, "Reach" and "Last."
