Pleased to say that this 120 minutes defined a generation. 1999 was such a golden year for Trance music and many people reference this very set as opening their eyes to the power of Trance.

It's hard to believe how groundbreaking and well-polished some of the tunes that I selected and played out, really were!! This mix still sounds timeless judging by today's standards and features tunes from the likes of Tiesto and Ferry Corsten, long before they became household names. It will appeal to all those who love it fresh, raw and pumping!!! Ladies and gentlemen, 20 years ago to this month, I created my second Essential Mix (of four) which was broadcast on BBC Radio 1.

Originally showcased at Rong pres. Kinetic Global Trance Gathering 2017 in Manchester, I thought that this set perfectly summed up the year from the latest Beatport number 1 with Aly & Fila "Shadow" to "Sweet Release" and our fresh collaboration with Marcella Woods. The Republic of Gatecrasher event held in June signified 10 years since the iconic venue in Sheffield known as the Republic and spiritual home to so many of the Gatecrasher faithful, tragically burnt to the ground.

10 years on and the music still plays on! We all grew with the music from 1997-2007 and felt obliged to hold a commemorative party so as to celebrate those many joyous memories experienced at this momentous institution. Gatecrasher has always been about inclusion and was not only a tribute to all our regulars but also to those who never have had the opportunity to experience it first-hand.

In order to make this event unique, I wanted to try something different and completely out of my comfort zone! After many lengthy discussions, I made the conscious decision to go back to back with the entire main room lineup. From early doors until the final tune, everybody who attended was guaranteed a nostalgic, musical journey.

Post-Republic of Gatecrasher blues and it was really pleasing to have received so many positive and thought provoking comments with regard to how musically diverse it actually was. I wholeheartedly agree and thought it necessary to share these wonderful sets. Just listening back, you'll be really hard pushed to find such a wide range/variety of Trance to encapsulate one night!!!

Many thanks go out to Paul Pearson, Guy Ornadel, Matt Hardwick, M.I.K.E. Push, Marco V, Matt Darey and DuMonde (JamX) who all contributed to this amazing event by joining me on this 9 hour adventure. Now you can too ;).

Gatecrasher's visit to the Coventry Cathedral Ruins to host the latest GC Outside was nothing short of spectacular. This venue was the ideal setting for an outdoor event in conjunction with the Gatecrasher Classical Orchestra and headline DJs as well as being of historical significance.

With the weather at a wonderful 26 degrees for most of the day and the superb Gatecrasher Classical Orchestra showcasing an ensemble of the very best Trance anthems, who else could possibly follow on? 

Well....Jason and I have known each other for far too long!!! :) From early days of DJing to promoting and producing for respective club brands, our paths have frequently crossed. We've always had this friendly rivalry which has seen no end to our capability to deliver some of the most memorable sets on a night! Synergy is a combined effect which is greater than the sum of separate parts which in this case is Scott Bond + JFK.

From the intro tune, I just knew it would be something special. As each track was played, our competitive spirit brought out the very best in us. The music flowed naturally as we were both feeding off the positive energy of the crowd whilst the sweet release of pumping Trance vibrated off the cathedral walls. Personally, those 90 minutes just flew by and we didn't want to stop!

Luminosity Beach Festival is where the Trance collective come together every year and share some memorable moments throughout the 4 eventful days of the most diverse and hedonistic Trance soundscapes on Bloemendaal Beach. Also, if you are brave enough to survive those 4 action packed days, there's also an Official After Party at the Panama Club! 

I was delighted to play at both Luminosity Beach Festival 2019 and the Official After Party. The turn out was wonderful with so many energetic and positive people from all walks of life packed on the dancefloors. I thoroughly enjoyed both sets and each had a focus on promoting my own unique style/sound. This will involve creating a happy medium of a Trance mixes with all the many variations prog, uplifting, tech, psy etc. to cater for the tastes of any newcomers as well as the more seasoned Trance veteran. 

It goes without saying that geography can sometimes be a limiting factor for some fans who up until this point may have only seen my name mentioned on an ASOT broadcast or a social media post. However, it amazes me as to what great lengths people go to when it comes to travelling half way across the globe to see their favourite DJs/producers perform at Luminosity 2019. Really pleasing as mine were from Japan, Saudi Arabia and Mexico!!!

Born in the hot summer of 1979, I grew up in the center of The Netherlands. At the age of 12 I discovered the wonderful new genre of House music. Still a schoolboy, I used all my pocket money to buy cassette tapes of famous Dutch house compilations like Move The House, Turn up the Bass & House Party. In the following years several new subgenres emerged, in which the melodic ones were my favourites. That means lots of Eurodance, and instead of the popular Dutch Hardcore, I chose for German Rave and Hardtrance. That combination of powerful beats with lots of melodies was golden and formed my music taste.

Some years through genres like Dream House, Club Trance and the famous Pizzicato house followed and the first Trancemaster! CD’s were collected. And then the year 1999 came, I discovered a strange imported English mix compilation called Gatecrasher:Wet
It contained a wonderful combination of trance tracks from all over Europe. At that moment I started to save some money for buying my first turntables. When I bought my first 2 belt drive turntables and a basic mixer a new world opened. The world was far less international so it was quit a challenge to get those gems from abroad. In 2005 this trance addiction was expanded with producing my own tracks with the then brand new FruityLoops software. Exploring all ranges of trance music my production portfolio is very diverse, like all the different music styles I like to play. 

Being a bedroom producer and DJ for many years my collection grew to about 2500 records ranging from deep progressive house to hardtrance. Around 2007/2008 vinyl records stopped being the main medium for electronic music and things were getting all digital. Missing the fun part of buying and spinning part of records, together with a changing sound of trance made that spinning music was not on my highest rank anymore. But although not too active, this was the period that I discovered harmonic mixing, which still forms the base of all my mixes. By combining the harmonies of different tracks, my mixes are full of homemade mash-ups and by using the harmonic mixing wheel I try to make one continuous journey through harmonies.

In these years my turntables and record collection were gathering dust. I still followed the trance scene sideways and made an occasional mix (with Virtual DJ) or track. In 2018 something changed. I decided to go to a trance festival again after 15 years, so me and my friends made a trip to Luminosity Beach Festival 2018. I was overwhelmed by the fact that this scene was so much more alive than I expected. Especially the fact that there were so many DJ’s that still played those classic trance tracks. Inspired by those sets I decided to upload some of my older mixes on my SoundCloud page for all those classic trance lovers. 

In the past 4 years I created my own themes for my mixes, some modern ones but lots of classics. For example my yearbooks in honour to those golden years of trance. My Exhibition of Classic Trance does reflect my personal taste the best, those mixes are always more than 3 hours to ensure a complete journey through different styles of trance. My personal favourite series is Hidden Treasures, which completely consists of all those hidden gems from back in the days. Of course I love the obvious classics, just as much as all trance lovers, but mixes with only the well-known classics are sometimes a bit exchangeable. With these hidden treasures I can let people discover tracks they never heard of and be more unique. It’s my pleasure to provide you all with a broad range of trance music.
