If you have been at the Junkyard stage this shouldn't need any description but if you haven't I will try to explain it a little bit. 

Every year I have been so lucky to be able to play with friends and have a good time playing music, at what I consider, my home festival. We have been doing the Junkyard stage formerly known as Favela for a while and it has always been a labor of love that has brought tears of happiness, one way or another, every single time. 

This last year I got to play with 2 of my favorite friends/artists Marques Wyatt, and Monolink. We closed Saturday night from 1 AM to 4 AM and here is the testament of what transpired musically that night!  We had so much fun!  I hope you enjoy it!

It has been quite some time since the last time we gathered for a night of MBTS. I wanted to take some time after the pandemic to be quiet and see how the dance music scene would evolve, and what sounds would come out of the standstill that was Covid. Now that I have a good sense of where I want to be sonically, and what kind of energy I want to spread onto dance floors, I am ready to restart MBTS in 2023. This was my first trip to the Joshua Tree Music Festival.  It definitely lived up to and exceeded any expectations I may have had.  The beautiful community of music enthusiasts it attracted was second to none.  They came with me wherever I went musically.  There's nothing like being physically present, but I'm trusting some of the magic from that beautiful evening under stars will translate via this recording into something that will leave your soul smiling. Here lies my latest aural offering from the Lincoln Speakeasy last Saturday June 11, 2016.  It was a deep, intimate vibe in there, I believe I was able to reflect via the decks and some new and classic sonic pearls.  Enjoy!

Sonic love travels in many dimensions and as it relates to music, Marques Wyatt is a seminal pioneer as undoubtedly amongst the most respected DJ's in the United States and a West Coast legend.  In addition to producing some of LA's most legendary clubs / events, many associate him with "DEEP," the illustrious event that he nurtured in his hometown of Los Angeles-thriving and continuing today for well over 16 years. He was voted Best DJ of 2014 by LA WEEKLY and recently #2 in LA's TOP 20 DJs.  Last year, his two performances at Coachella were very well received and allowed Marques to continue ushering in some new followers.  He is one of the few dj's that have managed to cross pollinate and merge at least two generations of music fans on his dance floors . Thus, he is in demand at clubs, as well as on the festival circuit alike. Marques' unerring, knowledgeable selections are sure to stir up some emotions and known to turn huge dance floors into an intimate ritual.

Oh man do we have a long-awaited set for you today. Marques Wyatt has been someone we've looked up to for years, not just for his music but because he's been an absolute beacon of light in our community for as long as we can remember. For one reason or another it never worked out getting Marques on a Desert Hearts lineup, but every time we ran into him expressing our desire to book him, he'd flash us his big bright smile and say, "When it's meant to be, it's meant to be." Well in 2017 it was meant to be and we finally got this ray of positivity at the helm of our Desert Hearts dance floor. The result was pure magic, pure vibe, & pure love. It was the uniting of a house music legend with the tribe he's supposed to be a part of. Welcome to the Family, Marques. Your spirit's always been here but now it's official. You're going to fit in around here very nicely!
