This particular remix is from 2003.  Afro Mystik was one of my favorite groups at the time.  Omega's voice could cast a spell on anyone and it was an honor to work on what just happened to be my favorite track on the album. Rhythm Is (Marques' Rhythm is Deep Mix)- Afro Mystik

Due to copyright issues, I'm forced to do an ID tag in the beginning.  I hope it's not too painful:-)  This was my first remix for Om Records.  It was nice to get the call to provide my own take on what was already a major tune (2003).  I was later asked to remix "Sweet Love", which is always a good sign.  Always, props to Smitty for his astute engineering skills and Mike Boito for tickling the keys to perfection!

DEEP's very own Marques Wyatt has been blazing new musical trails in the sacred dance and yoga communities via co-producing events and offering his latest brand of tribal musical medicine of all tempos. This recording in particular is from the latest "Sonic Shamanic" event at the Source Spiritual Center, with co-creators Yoga priestess Nicole Doherty and Alejandra Castaneda.  Unfortunately, the live vocal guidance and musicians were not patched into the dj mixer, so they were not recorded.  Nevertheless, the aural vibrations come through.  Look for us next at Lightning in a Bottle late spring!

Sonic Shamanic @ The Source Spiritual Center - DJ Marques Wyatt

On New Year's Day, our community suddenly and tragically lost our beloved Bess Chui to the afterlife.  During this set was one of her last dances on this earthly plane.  I remember seeing her beautiful smile throughout from the DJ booth.  We are all grateful to have shared time with her that day and any other.  We will always have the music to carry her memory forward.  Love and Prayers to Bess' family and friends. <3

This was my first trip to the Joshua Tree Music Festival.  It definitely lived up to and exceeded any expectations I may have had.  The beautiful community of music enthusiasts it attracted was second to none.  They came with me wherever I went musically.  There's nothing like being physically present, but I'm trusting some of the magic from that beautiful evening under stars will translate via this recording into something that will leave your soul smiling. Here lies my latest aural offering from the Lincoln Speakeasy last Saturday June 11, 2016.  It was a deep, intimate vibe in there, I believe I was able to reflect via the decks and some new and classic sonic pearls.  Enjoy!

Sonic love travels in many dimensions and as it relates to music, Marques Wyatt is a seminal pioneer as undoubtedly amongst the most respected DJ's in the United States and a West Coast legend.  In addition to producing some of LA's most legendary clubs / events, many associate him with "DEEP," the illustrious event that he nurtured in his hometown of Los Angeles-thriving and continuing today for well over 16 years. He was voted Best DJ of 2014 by LA WEEKLY and recently #2 in LA's TOP 20 DJs.  Last year, his two performances at Coachella were very well received and allowed Marques to continue ushering in some new followers. This little deep number was amongst my first original productions (2001).  It was one of those that I liked and was proud of no matter what anyone else thought.  Fortunately, my friend King Britt rang and said "this track is amazing".  Anyone can say that but he played it whenever I saw him.  I feel like it's sort of timeless, thanks to Jay-J and his acute engineering skillz.

The Fog City Theme-Fog City Players (Marques & Jay-J)

What can I say about this record?  I'm still not sick of it, which is some feat in itself.  Thanks to Jay-J Hernandez for engineering the f*ck out of this record.  I couldn't pray for it to sound any better.  I remember handing Frankie Knuckles the white label at that years WMC in Miami.  Next thing I know he was playing it.  He summoned me over and said "this is hot"!  I had no idea it would have the impact it had.  It was my favorite tour.  I'd play the record in every city and people would yell the words from the dance floor.  There go those chills again...

Subconscious (Marques' Deep Classic Remix) - Samantha James

I was envisioning playing these tracks in Shambhala's infamous Living Room. This mix literally features music from some of my favorite artists and labels. The DSF track in particular is one to look out for, as it's the only one featured in this mix that is unreleased. It scorches the dance floor every time I play it and will definitely be a BIG Summer track. Needless to say, I'm looking profoundly forward to experiencing Shambhala, as BC is one of the most beautiful places to be in the Summer and I've heard nothing but praise for Shambhala.
