With the 10th ndyuka podcast i got inspired to dig a bit deeper into my heritage, which leads me to the West African country Ghana. A lot Surinamese Marrons are Akan descendants from Ghana and the roots are still visible in the language and way of living. It is truly amazing to see that the foundation of the culture is so strong that it lives on forever. 

Abusuafo) means Family in ashanti (ghanian dialect). With Ghana and the Afro Surinamese people being connected so closely, this is the keyword translated from this podcast. 

I've tried to mix this set a bit different than usual. Emphasizing different flows in the set without losing energy but still capture ways of consistency.

It is 1995 and a young musician named DJ Ma.D is playing at Club Im Park, a former punk club in Fürstenwalde. Four years into the future this musician would become a resident at OstGut and later be known to the world as @marceldettmann It is a thrilling honor for us to reintroduce you to this pioneering idea of Techno music from one of our most influential icons. Enjoy this absolute rarity!

Known for blending the soul of Techno with a modern, unorthodox approach, Temudo's music is characterised by gritty, futuristic sounds, with a signature motif resembling a rusty crank pounding into a brick wall. In 2023, Temudo embarked on a new journey into live performance, delivering spontaneous sets that challenge traditional expectations. Each live set is a unique, improvised act where he pushes the boundaries of Ableton to its sonic limits. 

"The main idea is that the music of that recording didn’t exist before the performance itself. It was all created on the flow, one idea after the other, through the control of sequencers, Lfos, arpeggiators and other complex midi processing, as well as virtual synthesizers and sound processors. I would have an idea playing for the audience, and would prepare the next one (by pre listening on the headphones) and would eventually blend both."

Bosnian-built and -bred Sev Dah may be a Swedish expat, but the Balkan blackness clings strongly to the bleak percussions and rigidly uneasy synthetics that unwillingly fuse into his strongly individual take on techno. Authentically purveying the pulsations of the nakedly throbbing and ugly world, far away from Starbucks and H&M. 
Signed to respected labels such as Random Island, Mote-Evolver and Kaiser's KSR, he quickly gnawed his way into the scene’s core of DJs and producers. Sev is even managing new projects on his own label Proletarijat since 2016. Like a rabid mongrel, since 1998 he has been chewing and belching new bastard beats that are aching to scream out. Consequently there’s a steaming and steady stream of vinyl releases coming.
With influences ranging from Stigmata and Mills to Master Reese and Petar Dundov, Sev Dah is a versatile but headstrong DJ that can gently ease a thumb in at midnight or fervently thrust it down the hatch at peak time.

German-born and Vienna-based DJ, producer and label-head Egotot is recognised for his fast and impulsive sound. Heavily inspired by the classic sounds of the 90s, his upbeat grooves are able to captivate dance-floors with their timeless appeal. in the primeval forests of Surinam. The hypnotic, percussive beats characterizing MARRØN’s foundational Afro Deep style have evolved to form a singular conception of techno. His dynamic take on the genre is at home in the underground, most notably in his role as co-founder and resident of Amsterdam’s Eerste Communie. MARRØN’s capable command of groove, power, and texture is no doubt a convincing invitation to stay on the dancefloor for hours.
