Berlin duo Kolett & Zadak continue their hot streak on Exploited Ghetto following the success of Amplifire and Azizam with another formidable creation.

Familiar faces behind the decks at clubs in their home town like Kater Blau, Sisyphos or Ritter Butzke, theirs is a deep and heady sound. Roadhouse rocks a swung triplet rhythm which immediately makes it stand out along with its sinister off-beat bassline. On-beat hats further the jarring feel as hypnotic, warped vocal cuts and sustained synth notes heighten the eerie vibe. It’s a moment of relief from the sonic tension when the epic bassline cuts its way into the heart of the track, with the commanding vocal refrain coming out of nowhere to lay the icing on the cake. Wobbly 8-bit synths add more texture before the brooding bassline grows in swagger with metallic layers swirling out of the ether to bolster its power. Despite its vigour, it’s somehow understated, with its tense feel doing away with the need for excessive power.

Whitesquare deliver a superb rework, taking elements from the original and marrying them to a more straight-up, rolling 4/4 groove that’s laced with delicious conga rolls. Pretty chime sounds play out the chord progression and build the emotion as those vocal cuts are boosted up cleverly to a lead refrain status. A bold marimba melody cuts into play, spaciously reverbed, before a plump analog bassline pumps its way into action. A careful, uncluttered arrangement and excellent mixing allows each element to shine beautifully, with subtle field recording type nature sounds and well-placed FX filling in the gaps perfectly.

The time has come for the third and final release of exclusive cuts from the Adana Twins mix compilation. Kicking things off is Aaaron’s ‘Muir’ where organic grooves lay the groundwork for ethereal melodies and sinister vocal calls before Adana Twins ‘Ocelotes’ picks up the pace as powerful percussives oppose robust sonic displays of emotion. 

Following suit of the previous track, Andre Hommen steps up next and delivers a vigorous journey where an unrelenting arpeggio drives forward at high velocity creating a wild and impassioned ride before Daniel Bortz and Sascha Sibler’s ‘Yuppie’ draws back the intensity level to deeper, dub infused territories where groove is paramount. 

‘Gazebo’ from Human Machine picks up the energy level once again as hi pace drums and rapid fire melodies culminate in a fever pitch of dance floor antics before Kadosh & Yost Koen’s ‘Dunkellila’ dives back into celestial territories as a ghostly lead winds eerily into oblivion. 

Rounding out the end of the release is Kintar & BOg’s ‘Tribelune’ where melodic percussion and lush sonics traverse a path deep into emotional sector’s before Upercent’s ‘La Lluita’ finalizes the release with an exquisite array of sonics laid over an engaging broken beat rhythm resulting in a lullaby-esque dreamscape of gorgeous harmonies. 

And for the vinyl connoisseurs Aaaron, Adana Twins, Human Machine, and André Hommen will be available via vinyl while the rest will be digital only. Enjoy!

Spanish artist based in Malaysia Road To Mana is back with another of his hugely emotive house EPs. It comes on the reputable SOSO label and features two originals with a remix by label boss Oliver Schories.

Opener Your World is nearly eight minutes of brooding house, with a waify synth riff floating above the drums and a pained lead bringing a heavy heart to the soft and supple drums. Oliver Schories remixes it into a more driven cut, with surging yet warm pads and slick drums sinking you into the groove. 

Chasing Shadows from Road to Mana is then another soothing affair with zoned out vocals and rich melodies. It's spine tingling and far sighted and sure to carry you away in a reverie. The instrumental mix is even more dreamy and ageless, with horizontal grooves really making you forget the everyday world. 

Once again then here Road to Mana shows off his unique sounds and skills, that point to a massive future!!
