Threshold

Hi there and welcome to our latest track, 'The Storm Giants'.

As with many of my tracks, this one was inspired by an awesome image that I found whilst browsing for art to stimulate my creative process. As soon as I saw this image the idea of a track about Storm Giants came to mind. I remembered being caught in a hurricane force wind in 1990 whilst working as a gardener at Richmond Park. The team I was in had been working all day trying to warn people away from the woodland areas, but had failed to get the message from our superintendent to go home before the worst of the storm hit. I set off with my friend to walk our bikes across the park as it was already to windy to cycle. As we walked across an open section of ground I remember leaning so hard into the wind that I could almost touch the ground without falling over! It was almost impossible to move, but we battled on, laughing, but not out of joy, but to hide our growing fear. All of a sudden a huge gust hit us and blew us both backwards onto the ground! I remember it was an incredible feeling, scary, but also fun. We eventually got lower down from the exposed top of Richmond Hill and into some shelter, where we took refuge until the storm abated. The next day I cycled back to work through the devastation! fallen trees, crushed cars and debris everywhere! I took us weeks to clear up all the mess in the park and i remember being in total awe of the size of the huge fallen ancient trees in our woodland, some of which were hundreds of years old, like fallen giants!

I decided it would be a challenge to not only try and capture the power of this storm, but also to try and create some subtle sections to the composition, to captured the varied power of the wind, from a soft breeze, which cools you on a shot summers day, to a raging storm that rips and tears at everything in its path.

This was a lot harder than I thought and, although I am very happy with this finished piece, this is a theme I plan to revisit as there is a great wealth of possibilities.

CTM028 - Blitzkrieg

Enjoy my new trailer music. The story or inspiration behind it is about atlantis survivors, who escaped one of its sinking islands and after some time sailing in their ships, they found one big quite intact island, where they landed and were full of hope to rebuild their civilization.

I composed it in one weekend and then spent so many after-work nights mixing and mastering, but I hope it paid off and you will enjoy it.

Update 2015/2016: 
    You might be wondering, why so many of my songs disappeared and are no longer available? Reason behind this is, that despite I liked those songs and music ideas behind them, I did not like their technical quality - simply starting from selection of inappropriate virtual instruments or instrument libraries, lack of mixing skill and eventually inappropriate mastering or no mastering at all. Yes, it might surprise you, but as amateur composer, I am doing it all currently by myself. Putting some song to private stack was simply by listening to it and thinking: "i like that, but why the hell does it sound so terrible?".
BUT don't worry, I'm returning back to each of those songs and rewriting it from scratch, so they all will be back some day.
