Description: Sunday morning improvisation with my three-year old daughter Hannah, the first we actually recorded.

Exceptionally engaging. But more than that, Hannah is so very musical and expressive, and imaginative. And also, Martin, this brings me back to my own improvisations many years ago with my own kid. It is such a beautiful ache to be reminded. May you two have many years of music making together.

I think alle young children are artists ... humans are born improvisors ... the fill all the space with their voices, they use plenty of paint and cover whole sheets of paper. Unfortunately we tell them to be quiet and to do things like we think they have to be done...

This works on a wonderful primal level. Hannah is spelled the same way backwards as well.

Virginia is a very lovely lady.
She sings beautifully,
She leads others in song gracefully.
She exercises thoroughly.
She guides others gently.
She is on the go constantly.
She plays many games happily.
She always smiles beautifully.
She spreads her love of life joyfully.
If you know Virginia, you lover her truly.

Welcome! If you stick around a bit, you'll find some sketchy sketches of a looping guitarist, interested in minimal music, jazz, fusion etc.
 
I wish I would have thought of saying the following about me, but it was Robert Fripp, and he seems to have had himself in mind: “Music so wishes to be heard that it sometimes calls on unlikely characters to give it voice.”

Oh, and you might wonder why I call my sketches "meta-music". Well, since I am always inspired by others,  I think of my improvisations as music *about other music*, thus meta-music.
