The climax of a dawn chorus at Shapwick Heath nature reserve on the Somerset levels. I nightingale comes to the end of his shift after singing throughout the night. The rest of the birds have only recently woken up and started singing. Cuckoos, bitterns, and a variety of warblers, tits, thrushes and wetland species.

A group of northern lapwings (vanellus vanellus) performing an aerial display right in front of my microphones on a wetland site in mid-Sweden. They dive and loop in the air screeching with their iconic "peewit" song. At moments, you can hear their buzzing wingbeats. Towards the end, an individual lands near the microphones and begins alarming, possibly directed at the microphones (though they were very small and discreetly placed), a nearby predator, or another intruding bird.
