The next Fasaan Rec. installment comes from Stockholm based DJ and sound artist Moonilena - longtime musical friend and since 2022 collaborator with the label, releasing her marvelous track ”Onio” on the label’s ’Enter The Decagon’ compilation. This mix is aptly titled ’Spökets sommar’ - which translates as ’The ghosts's summer' - encapsulating the style and timbre of Moonilena’s music and DJ sets. To be enjoyed in eternity!

On the wings of butterflies and white doves come the new, Belgian Birds. Known for those who're into the occasional digging from the past (and present!) here's a selection made for the series by Jan Van den Broeke - Belgian artist and musician known to be head or at least part of such projects as The Misz and Absent Music, revitalized by Stroom, and more recently the lovely June11, April & June and Canto de Mudo. His latest albums are 11000 Dreams (2017), Lost and Latest (2020) and Time and Desire (2022).
What else to be said here? The selection consists of Jan's carefully chosen tracks of the latter projects as well as some of his favourite Belgian music, with bits of poetry by Linda France, Mary Oliver and Rainer Maria Rilke mixed in between. Here is the the tracklist:

First, after a few months break due to personal reasons, we are thrilled to announce that we are back with a new podcast by Scape One. 

@kurt-baggaley (@tau-sagittarii), also known under the alias as Scape One is an electronic music producer based in England. Over the course of his career his music has ranged from driving futuristic electro of his early EPs to more deep and experimental ambient electronica of his Tau Sagittarii releases.

His output has gradually become more conceptual with works such as 2012's Natural Phases which focuses on down tempo stripped down low-fi beats with wave formed harmonics. 2015's Former Self consisting of intricate and a slowly building hypnosis of synth sequences, and 2022's Tear's in Rain, a complete dedication of synths and intricate beat patterns to all things Blade Runner.

We thank Kurt for contributing to our newly established platform, the trustful and enriching communication and wish him the best for his further journey as an artist. If everything goes as planned, you can expect more from him on studio bb soon.

This esoteric composition, woven from the threads of tribalorientalism and bathed in the whispers from the Nirvakalpa, beckons the listener into a dimension where time dances in rhythmic undulations.

The notes, like veils of sound, reveal glimpses of hidden truths, inviting the curious soul to embark on a journey through the labyrinthine passages of consciousness. The melodies, inspired by the esoteric wisdom of distant lands, resonate with the mysticism of the East. Instruments, both familiar and otherworldly, come together in a cosmic dance, creating a tapestry of sound that defies conventional boundaries. The rhythm, like a heartbeat synchronized with the pulse of the universe, guides the listener through the shifting sands of perception.

AMATEUR EXOTIC - AMATEUR EXOTIC'S WHISPERS FROM NIRVAKALPA

Martina Bertoni returns to Karlrecords with Electroacoustic Works for Halldorophone, her most radical album yet. The foundation for the four electroacoustic pieces was laid during a residency at Stockholm’s legendary Elektronmusikstudion (EMS) that the Berlin-based cellist and composer used to explore the curious instrument, originally designed by Halldór Úlfarsson in 2008, as an algorithmic system in order to examine tunings and the mathematical relationships between harmonic frequencies.
Aiming to analyse and understand their interaction beyond the composer’s control, Bertoni sought to engage more deeply with the concepts of time, tuning, and, most importantly, control.
Accordingly, her four Electroacoustic Works for Halldorophone seem both massive in scale and incredibly intimate, sonically restrained and emotionally overwhelming—almost ambient and always demanding your full attention. - K.P. Cornils
