What has been the hold up? Well last year I was all set to release it with one of the major labels. However when it turned out they lost $2.1 billion in the last tax year it all went tits up. While it would be easy to blame the big bad record company, in this case everyone I worked with were great and really helpful. It just goes to show how messed up the music industry is right now and how difficult things are.

So it's back to plan one where I'm going to put it out myself (and hopefully not lose $2.1 billion). New mixes have been, and are being done just to keep it fresh and the mixes that don't fit on the album will be coming out as exclusive free downloads - so watch this space!

Hypnotic mix of a hypnotic classic. The music references jazz from before WWII and the beat includes second line rhythms, some of Dianna's best vocals, so sultry, almost invoking Bessie Smith. This record has been used since its inception to take people to another plane, where time is eternal, and you are right there in the middle of the groove. This mesmerizing mix highlights the timeless facets of a timeless classic.

This is about as Gay Marvine as it gets. First it was a song, a single, even has another remix single released years later, but still this mix never was officially released. Presumably the original source is a reel to reel, recorded to acetate, later recorded by someone who that acetate was not made for and unofficially released as a "promo mix". A very memorable string pattern and wonderful groove from Sylvester highlighted in a monster bass groove with a glorious arrangement by the legendary Tom Moulton, and edited and remastered by Gay Marvine for your ears and dancefloors here.

One of those kind of incredible groove pieces with a slightly wavering pattern that makes you want to climb the walls, driving the energy of the dance floor over the edge and into their minds. Kind of like Yello's take on Pink Floyd's "On The Run", reshaped and remodeled from the original release on the Resident's label.

Psychedelic symphonic soundtrack disco at its finest. One part of a 3 color sequence, Gay Marvine has highlighted an often forgotten Quincy Jones classic from the original soundtrack to the motion picture of the Broadway musical The Wiz, and transformed it into a psychedelic disco masterpiece.

This was a give away to Trax Magazine, France in June 2012. 
Started this tune in the plane on the way to Playa Del Carmen for the second BPM of 2012. Finished it in Tulum at my cabana on the full moon, white sand beach. MIxed it down and added the vocal back at the house north of San Francisco. 
Continues to be a staple for the Tone Of Arc live performance.

Martin Brodin Biography		

Martin Brodin is a Swedish DJ, producer, and most importantly a music lover.
His serious interest in music began during the early 1980s, a decade in which he grooved to the sounds of Yello, Depeche Mode and Kraftwerk. Martin became instantly hooked on House music when he heard Lil Louis’ French Kiss in the early 1990s. His passion for Disco began with First Choice’s Dr Love.

A champion of the re-emergence of Disco, Martin Brodin founded MB Disco in 2010. This label has released music from the likes of Psychemagik, Ray Mang and Chicken Lips, as well as Brodin’s debut album. Leroy Burgess featured on one release and Martin has put out updated remixes of classics by Newcleus and Giorgio Moroder. The MB Edits sub-label was launched in 2013, well ahead of the current edits trend. 

Before MB Disco, Martin Brodin ran labels that were important in the development of Deep House and Tech House. His Deeplay Music label championed Soulful flavours from the likes of Physics, Jask, Rurals and Dalminjo, whilst Deeplay Soultec released music by Martinez, Jori Hulkkonen, Guy Gerber, Noir and Tiger Stripes (as 12th Floor) amongst others. 

Martin Brodin has released music on labels such as Southern Fried, Buzzin Fly, Compost, Buzzin Fly and Nang, as well as his own imprints. His tracks have been remixed by the likes of Spencer Parker, diskJokke, Bottin and Faze Action. Brodin’s productions caught the ears of DJs like Carl Cox, Nick Warren, Andrew Weatherall and Claude VonStroke, who included Martin’s music on their mix CDs. 

As a remixer, three moments stand out for Martin. The first was when he was asked to remix Human League’s Sky, which was released on Wall Of Sound. The second was his revision of Giorgio Moroder’s 1978 classic, The Chase. The third was the remix he did of She’s Electric by legendary synth band Visage.

His first DJ mix CD was compilation of the month in IDJ Magazine, back in 2005. As a DJ, Martin has played everywhere from London to Tokyo. 

Today, Martin Brodin is still an active producer, DJ and label boss.
