November 23rd marks the 20th Anniversary of Snoop Dogg’s highly-acclaimed Doggystyle, in which his lyrical realism and distinctive vocal flow forever changed hip-hop and helped define the genre into what it is today.

In honor of this date, Snoop has created an enticing mixtape of the samples used on Doggystyle. A year ago I was approached by Jamison Harvey from Flea Market Funk and asked to do a mix for them. I've always had a lot of respect for what they do, and always enjoyed listening to their mixes as well. I also wanted to somehow include my Butta Brother Skeme Richards. So we got together, and came up with an idea. I would do a mix, and Skeme would dub dialog from his massive VHS collection and lay it on top. Kind of a soundtrack for a movie that never happened. So, that's what we did! With that said, we present to you "Cops Crooks and Spies". Thank you everyone for your support! Peace.

This mix is very special to me as it is dedicated to the honor of the late great J Dilla. I made this to showcase the versatility & amazing quality of work from one of the greatest producers of all-time. 
   From emerging from the gritty city of Detroit to showcasing his genius to the entire world before his passing at age 32, Dilla (also known as Jay Dee) always kept his love for all forms of music front and center. It's my honor and duty to continue to push music forward and keep his memory alive with everything I have in me. 
       I will post a tracklist soon but I want you all to just engulf the mix and embrace the rhythms. Music can truly change lives and we all must be creative in every aspect of our lives. Word to Dilla.
