SOUNDS LIKE HOPE // 
I'm a British Producer/ Artist, living at Youth with a mission Amsterdam.

We are working with refugees, migrants and undocumented folks to make music to bring hope and let them have a voice in this society where they are unheard, for them to express their cry to God. Martin Sham is an indie-folk artist originally from Dallas, Texas. His passion for raw/organic music, and the influence of more than 25 countries he's traveled so far, has led him to finally sit down, record some rough originals, and see where we can go from there.

I make guitar loop/post rockish demos that could be songs one day.

All songs are recorded using an iPad, Garageband, and occasionally my brain.

As I was sitting in my room
On one hot summer day,
I opened up my window
To take the heat away

It was at that fateful moment
My ears heard something new
And now, as is my duty,
I'll pass it on to you

That thing that entered through my ears
Was something rarely heard.
It was indeed a most glorious sound,
The coughing of a bird

It wheezed and hacked, it hemmed and hawed
As it stood there on my lawn
And then it was all over
The bird was dead and gone

But in its final moments,
And with its final breath,
It gave up an offering
That transcended even death

For that last cough was something special
Something to be heard
It was the sum of all the life
Lived by that little bird

Every place that it had flown
And sounds from all around
Adventures most will never know
All packed in that last sound

And now the story of the bird
Is mine to spread afar
And what better way to do that
Than with the strings of my guitar

So if you listen to my songs
And question what you've heard
The answer is, quite simply
It was the coughing of a bird
