I wrote this song about a subject close to my heart .... The Glens of Antrim from which my ancestors came from. The theme of the song deals with immigration from not only County Antrim but the entire island of Ireland and specifically those who were forced to leave their homeland in search of work in England or Scotland only to live in poverty, never to return home due to their Celtic Heart and Pride. ( Deserted towns and graves, both offered the same.)This one , not a country song but more of an Irish ballad, dedicated to the ones who finally made it home.... but unfortunately in a box.

Hi. I’m Martin Taylor from Galway. This is my latest release performed by Kevin Hartnett from Ratoath in Dublin. It's Kevin's debut single, a Christmas song based on the Famine Ship, "The Dunbrody", which sailed from Ireland carrying Irish people desperate to get away from the terrible conditions prevailing in their country at the times of the potato blight in the 1840s through the 1850s. It tells the story of one young couple in particular who made this terrible journey and how they eventually, against all the odds, succeeded in reaching their New York destination.
