Last Thanksgiving diva and I returned to the MyOasis weekend campout for some outdoor dancing and shenanigans! We were scheduled next to each other so we decided to tag for a while in the middle because we always have so much fun when we do. 
Even though it was barely above freezing we managed to pull people away from the fire a while to get down with us!

Ayooo, I'm back with another classics mix, this time we cover one of my first loves, progressive trance. I really loved this era of trance, it was when I was first getting into the scene in the mid to late 90's. I fell in love with this sound right away before getting into house music. It really was a different era that I am happy to have grown up in musically and all of these tracks take me back to that time when everything was new and I was just a puppy, really great memories. Hope you guys enjoy it as much as I loved putting it together! PLUR!

Marty Funkhauser - Progressive Trance Classics

We are starting a series of guest mixes spotlighting various artists outside of the Bay Area and kicking it off with a guest mix from Tampa Bay's InterCom (@intercom-dj).

Intercom has pulverized dancefloors from coast to coast with his unique brand of impious vibrations since 1999. Stupefying crowds from Black Rock City to Lakes of Fire, Intercom’s influence on the Burning Man music community has stretched from memorable performances at the Freakeasy and Hookahdome to those at Dewie Decibels and Gon Kirin. In Detroit, Intercom spent years leaving audiences in a pile of their own excrement during monthlies for SanctumFM. Also pairing his caliginous vibe quite appropriately with the devils and ghouls at Theatre Bizarre, where he has performed since prior to the inception of their mainstream epoch. 

Intercom has opened for and supported such belligerence powerhouses as Deekline, Keith Mackenzie, Stanton Warriors, Freq Nasty and Radiohiro.

Here's what he had to say about the mix:

This mix is a live one take of the set DJ Journeyman and MC Shureshock preformed for The Elements Festival 2020 at the Love Camp Stage on Saturday night at the festival at 9pm to a packed dance floor of beautiful vibes depicted in the artwork for this mix.

This is not a studio mix

For this mix to recreate the live feel MC Shureshock uses the Roland RC 202 Loop station for mic effects from a SM58 mic direct into the effect unit live in one take and DJ Journeyman does the mix in one take on the decks.

Journeyman and Shureshock would like thank the Elements festival for having them and maximum love and shouts out to the amazing people who came and shared the dance that night it truly was a dream come true, more than you realise :)

Since getting his start in Vancouver over 25 years ago while crafting his signature funky sound and layered mixing Marty has carved out an admirable resume in a scene that he loves to give back and contribute to. He has been featured 3 times on DJ Dan's legendary Stereo Damage Podcast and has opened for a slew of legends including DJ Dan, A. Skillz, Krafty Kuts, Mr. Switch, Deekline, DJ Brace, Tommy Largo, Neon Steve, Funkanomics, Slynk, Featurecast, Basement Freaks as well as opening for Stickybuds numerous times in Nelson BC, Lethbridge and Medicine Hat. His festival resume runs deep with multiple bookings at Shindig Festival (UK), Fozzy Fest, Astral Harvest,  Vibrant Music Festival, Bass in the Bush, Moab Utah Pride, Vancouver Pride, Edmonton Pride and the Disco Den in Wichita.  Marty has been a part of the LEMF crew here in Lethbridge since it's inception in 2012 and is current chair of the organizing committee. Marty is also the founder of LEMF Events which creates diverse events for the LGBTQ+ community year round while creating space for local artists with a strong eye towards community.
