Opener ‘Confessions’ is all take-no-shit assertiveness, girls having a good time and not here for your lame pick-up lines. It sets the stage for the collective euphoria of the title-track, which delivers a large swing in the right direction. The comedown is immediate, but ‘The Crown’ is not ready to let you go until all that pent-up energy is released.
