'Cobh - to the Island' is a piece Mary Barnecutt. It features sounds taken from Cobh, a town in County Cork, and its environs (including Spike Island), interwoven with composed melodies and dense, overlapping string harmonies. The instrumentation includes audio recordings, shruti box, sampled foghorn, cellos, and vocals. Barnecutt created the piece while in residence at SIRIUS in 2020.
