Not a common name on the London Dubstep scene, Vandera plays things quiet and comes out with pieces of magic like this mixtape. When I first heard of the concept behind this 60 minute mix, I knew that it had to become part of the series. Here’s how it works – 60 minutes, 60 tracks, 1 key; C-Minor. It’s a brave thing to try and pull off, but damn does it sound good.

With unreleased bits from the likes of DFRNT, Numan, Lung, Artifact and of course Vandera himself, the mix has a decent selection of little treats in it. But, to be completely honest, this mix is not really about the dubs, in fact I’d go as far as saying it wasn’t even about the tracklist, it’s about a 60 minute long tune of epic proportions. With a crazy out-of-the-box approaches to studio mixes like this, it’s no wonder that Vandera found himself nominated for Dubstepforum’s Best Mix/Podcast 2011 award alongside the likes of Burial x Kode9, Digital Mystikz, Ramdanman and Addison Groove. A pretty impressive achievement.

My set from EvoWerx Presents Music With Teeth - This is a 90 minute crescendo as I bridged a flow starting with deep prog, swaying into some melodic techno and priming the dancefloor with psytech dugga duggas for the proper bangin' psy in the act following me. 

The vibe was ridiculous in that warehouse.

Artist Name: Mr Grey 
Bio: Inspired at a young age by playing guitars in rock bands driven by progressive rock like Yes, King Crimson, Porcupine Tree, and Tool to name a few Mr Grey took up djing as a tool to express himself back in 2010. Having explored the culture and sounds emanating from London, Berlin, Mumbai and beyond he set out to deep dive into the essence of modern-day dance music. Always curious, evolving with a quest for rare deep cuts there's always a surprise element in his sets. He co-founded Groove Inc with Abhijeet aka Electrrojunkie who went on to promote Disco House Minimal and techno in wine cite where there was no scene before...

Mentoring under Ignatious Camillo ( Cirrus goa) where he still visits frequently to learn, his thirst grew stronger.

Collaboration and exchange of experiences/knowledge are at the core of his view of djing as a form of artistic expression. 

Love for the juiciest house cuts and deep dubby techno, digital crate digging is always in a continuum for Mr Grey.
