I Rap Now :D

So never in a million years did I think that I would be rapping. I just started this endeavor almost 3 months ago now. Since then I have written 16 tracks recorded 14 and have over 9k words in the audio. Much more in my notebooks. I have become a total geek for this rhyming speak.

It all started with a buddy staying on my land. He was bumping some rap shit I could not understand. While sitting and talking about the makeup of the universe I had to comment about how the rap he was playing could not get any worse. We discussed some mumble rappers and how its all so fake. That is when I made the comment about how I could do better than 99% of the garbage he was listening to. Seeing as how I live off grid and have nothing but time I went inside and wrote my first rhyme.

Apex Predator was the result of that speech. 650 words It started and I did not even think of speaking it to a rhythm in time. It took me a whole two weeks to start laying it down to some beats. Started to get the hang of this timing and rhyming, little did I know it was soon to be my new obsession. 

So there you have it now 75 days later and over 10k words written. Trying to find the perfect words to rhyme out to rhythm sections. I keep it unique and talk geek, mixed in with some of the most merciless things I have ever heard myself speak. Provided me a way to share my knowledge of the universe with all of those who want to elevate their mental state. Educate as to the corruption that has been laid at our feet. Hopefully make a difference with this way I speak to these beats.

I have been mixing vinyl since 2000 and going to rave/events since 1993. My first event was on my birthday, Ultra Sweet on Euclid in Tucson, 1993. Going to events and mixing music has shaped who I am as a person. I will continue to do it for the rest of my life. I love layering tracks and mixing music for people. I've always appreciated the joy music brings to me and everyone around me.

I spent the first 6 years, (1993-2000ish), of my party life dancing with glowsticks before I found decks. Once I picked up my first pair of turntables it was over. I learned to mix with a crate of hard house a friend had given me around 2001. Then, just like he said I would, I was at the record stores buying drum and bass a month later. After spending a few months learning to control the pitch and beatmatch by ear it was off to the warehouses and deserts of Phoenix, AZ to play some vinyl. We used to have to dust off the records as they were playing to keep them from skipping from all the dirt. Carrying 40lbs of vinyl to have 120 tracks to play, using flashlights to read the records in the dark to layer the dnb.

I remember I would call overseas to the record sites and ask them when they would post their drum and bass dubs. Every week I would sit on the site refreshing the page to buy some of the white labels that would be released in limited quantity. I'd wait 2 weeks to get them in the mail, then rush home to make sure they did not melt in the sun. All so I could be the one to play the unreleased tracks. Spending well over 200 a month in vinyl.

Anyways, I still mix, still produce, still and always will love music, lots more to come.
