BlazzinBob from Warcraft Reloaded joins Jaa and Nick this week to talk about the latest in gaming news.  First, Bob talks about playing WoW Classic and being in the Burning Crusade Classic beta.  Then, he and Nick get into a discussion about the state of Hearthstone and how its a good time to come back and check out Classic, Battlegrounds, Duels, and more.  Jaa, meanwhile, has been playing It Takes Two with Kurabara and shares the depressing story of the game while praising its two-player gameplay.

Sony announced that the PS3, PSP, and Vita online stores are shutting down this year.  The group laments the potential loss of old games and worries about people losing access to their games as consoles fail.  Nick mentions that he still uses his PS3 and will be affected by this.  Jaa compares the PS3 Store to Steam, and talks about how Steam has circumvented this issue.

Microsoft announced that XBox Live will now be known as the XBox Network.  Jaa and Bob praise the name change but Nick wonders if the rebranding will stick or be undone.   Jaa tells his infamous XBox Live story.

Microsoft is also in talks to buy Discord for $10 Billion.  Jaa and Bob think that Microsoft can only benefit from bringing Discord under their software wing.  Nick and Bob also share their concerns about how Microsoft could mess this up.  Jaa thinks this could be a new Microsoft store.

Blizzard has removed the 30 day option for buying WoW gametime, and the Blizzard community is upset.  Nick talks about how people would use the 30 day gametime and won't be able to.  Bob talks about how no one in Classic seems to care about this.

Reggie Fils-Aime is leaving the Gamestop Board of Directors.  The group reminisces about their retail experiences.

With the regular season officially over, it's time to move on to the season playoffs! On Episode 23, Ramses and Lobosco recap the notable events from Kit Kat Rivalry weekend, and discuss the weekend's impacts on final playoff standings. We start the episode off by covering this week's free agency news, as the LA Gladiators liquidate a large portion of their roster ahead of the free agent signing period. After a month off, we begin with brief coverage of an announcement from League Vice President Jon Spector regarding some logistics for the 2021 season. We learn about the likely start time of Season 4, the further development of a tournament-based structure, and get a small glimpse at OWL's coming presence at Blizzcon Online in February. We discuss the brief peek behind the curtain, and discuss what other details may be coming with so much time left in the offseason.

Next, we go through each OWL team's current roster and breakdown every player pickup, release, and trade as of now. We look at potential strengths and weaknesses for each teams, as well as further potential signings for rosters with needs. 

Lastly, we cover a bit of unfortunate news from South Korea as OGN, the home of the Overwatch Apex tournament, announces that they will be ceasing operations by the end of the year. We cover the importance of the network to the growth of Overwatch esports and to the history of the game, and offer our recommendations for absolutely necessary "games to watch".

Push The Point #89: November Monthly Recap (Offseason 2020)

Jarret is under the weather so Kurabara steps up to join Nick in talking about the latest in video game news.  They've both been playing World of Warcraft: Shadowlands lately so they talk about their time in the game, and Nick mentions that Shadowlands has become the fastest selling pc game of all time, outpacing Diablo III (also by Blizzard!)  They talk a little about how they've been enjoying the story but there were low metacritic scores and this leads into Kurabara talking about his time playing Cyberpunk 2077 on pc.

Kurabara mentions the character customization features and then they get into the graphic problems on console, in particular older consoles like the PS4 and XBox One X.  Kura suggests that QA could have been the culprit but Nick thinks it was a matter of developer hours, even though CD Project Red did crunch heavily on this title.  Kura then talks about the combat feeling okay and the driving feeling weird.  They also discuss how the single player game is coming later as a separate title, not just a mode, although it will connect to the single player game.

They also discuss the game awards which were tonight and full of announcements.  Nick says that Hades should have been game of the year although The Last of Us II won.  Nick talks about how gaming this year will forever be linked to the pandemic and how that affected hits like Fall Guys and Among Us.  Kura talks about how the announcements overshadow the awards, and Nick argues that the announcments are what make the event feel unique to the gaming community.  They also run quickly through some of the announcements and worry about the state of Bioware.

In other news, Neil Druckmann is now Co-President of Naughty Dog.  And Oscar Isaac has been cast as Solid Snake in a Metal Gear Solid adaptation.  The guys wonder how Pyschomantis will work in movie format.

Ready Room #8: Krazy's Departure, Wraith Talk, and Much More!

This week Jarret and Nick are back for the new year, talking about what is going on in gaming news.  First, Nick talks about how he has been playing Final Fantasy XII with his son and how the introduction is so dry but his son is enjoying it.  Jarret meanwhile has been playing Cyberpunk 2077 and working on more of the different endings.

Twitch announced that they will be removing the PogChamp emote after the personality it is based, Ryan Gootecks Gutierrez, on tweeted out support for the mob that attacked the Capitol.  Jarret runs through some of the events of the siege and then he and Nick discuss what exactly this means for him.  Jarret points out that the streamer had made pro-Trump comments before, so the fact that this happened now is surprising.  He also argues that most people wouldn't associate the emote with the tweets, and so this seems like a bit of an overreaction from twitch.  They both agree Gootecks will not be casting any events any time soon as a result of this.

Next, they discuss a story that Microsoft tried to buy Nintendo around the time of the first XBox launch, and Nintendo laughed Microsoft out of the room.  The article also mentions that Microsoft considered buying EA, Midway, and Square.  They consider how those purchases might have changed the industry.  Then they talk about how Microsoft's strategy for the XBox has evolved over the years while struggling to get the names of the consoles right.

Also, Epic announed they are buying a mall in Cary, North Carolina.  This will be their new headquarters, which Jarret believes will be the largest game development studio campus on the East Coast.  They discuss Epic's requirements to contribute to the community as the result of their purchase.

Additionally, Jarret looks at an article complaining that Cyberpunk 2077 lost players over the last month, but did so disingenuously.

Finally, it was revealed that Microsoft has an agreement with Duracell to provide AA batteries for XBox controllers.  This is due to the decision to keep using AA batteries as that gives players more choice for how to charge their controller since Microsoft can sell a rechargable battery separately.  Both Jarret and Nick talk about how they keep their controllers charged, revealing that not everyone uses their controllers in the same way.

MTBS #35: Farewell, PogChamp Emote!

This week on Clan of Three we are going over the hour-long Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian Season 2.    This gives us a small look behind the scenes of season 2 and shows how it was made.  We discuss and give our opinions on the productions and comments made by the Directors, Actors, etc and nerd out on the details they give us.    We also like to remind you that we will be going on a hiatus before being back with a new project that covers Star Wars Rebels and how it ties into The Mandalorian.   The episodes should be releasing for our Patreons first, in March then followed by a public release sometime after.

Clan of Three #13: Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian Season 2

This week Nick is joined by hosts from WoW! Talk!, Warcraft Reloaded, The Tauren & the Goblin, and Push the Point to discuss BlizzConline that happened this weekend. Nick kicks off the main panel with Rei and Eric from WoW! Talk! And Kurabara from Dropping Spicy and Clan of Three.

The panel starts by discussing their impressions of BlizzConline.  Eric mentions that he liked the interface and how easy it was to watch the panels on YouTube, while Kurabara complains about having to choose between panels.  Nick mentions that Blizzard could have stretched this out over a week and not had to program against themselves.  Then they talk about the Blizzard Arcade announcement, and Eric shares his experience playing Rock ‘N Roll Racing.

Bob, Mel, and CognitivePit from Overwatch discuss the Burning Crusade Classic announcement.  They talk about blood elves and draenai being made available in the pre-patch so players can get a jump on getting to max level.  They also talk about the attention Classic got as they were the first franchise featured after Brack’s introduction and even had developers present for the WoW Dev Q&A.  They also look at how the character copying will work when transitioning from Classic to Burning Crusade.

The main panel discusses the World of Warcraft Chains of Domination content update.  Eric is excited for the new raid.  Rei has questions about the cinematic.  They talk about flying coming and the updates to the covenant campaigns.

Katie from the The Tauren & the Goblin joins Nick to talk about the Patch 9.1 cinematic in detail.  Katie is hyped up for the lore implications.  Nick was underwhelmed at first.  They debate if Anduin is playing the situation properly but they are looking forward to seeing what happens to Sylvanas next.

The panel reviews some of the other presentations from BlizzConline.  They talk about the debut of the Wandering Ancient mount.  Nick praises Andrea Toyias and her work on the Voice actor panels.

They also talk briefly about the Hearthstone expansion announcement.  Eric is excited for Diablo II Resurrected crossplay.  Nick liked the rogue video for Diablo IV and appreciated the focus on the ears.

Jarret joins Ramses and Lobosco from Push the Point to discuss the Overwatch 2 Behind the Scenes panel which revealed what to expect with Overwatch 2 PVE.  They also discussed the lack of announcements regarding PvP in Overwatch 2.

Finally, the main panel wraps up the show talking about the Karmic joke that was Metallica’s performance, as streamed on Twitch.
