Now that the 2014 Season of the FGC has wrapped up, we look at how things shaped up at EVO in Las Vegas. EVO is a gathering the world’s best fighting game players for each game, and we break down some of our favorite moments from this year’s event. We return to our regularly scheduled coverage of fighting games, in which plenty are getting a face lift. Now that August is behind us we managed to not only go to the classic Summer Jam we all know and love in the east, but also make it to PAX Prime as well. A new season of competitive gaming is starting up and with that we are seeing a slew of new announcements for both new and old games. New characters, stages, costumes, and game revisions have been announced for several games. Several anime games are receiving a new look with some updates, announcements, and even some characters combining two different franchises. Also,is your character getting the hit with the Nerf Hammer? NetherRealm is at it again with the patches. Have they learned their lessons yet? Predictions on the next season of the Kombat Pack 2 is up for grabs. Who do you want returning to Mortal Kombat?
 
What is Double Tap without any drama to report in the FGC? MVG finds itself in the cross hairs of someone looking to exploit its players. It's lonely at the top fellas. New releases of some favorite characters not only bring the hype, but also the skepticism of the community in their viability. R. Mika was revealed – a character the FGC has been wanting since the days of Street Fighter x Tekken – and she brings the showmanship, strength, and the goods to the game's latest entry.

Street Fighter V is on its way up, and some new games to join the mix. As Capcom and other companies start making changes in their games and ways, the community is diversifying how they help one another. Top players such as D-Link|LordKnight, AG|Glitch, and many others have started to teach both new and experienced players how they can get ahead of the curve. 2015 has now come to a close. We take a look back at what has evolved and pushed the FGC forward this year. Are we getting closer to the holy grail that is E-Sports? Not only has the competitive scene gained a lot of attention, but the players as well, with new companies have thrown their hats into the ring to support world class players. Who's been picked up? Also, the release count has been very high this year. Mortal Kombat X has been unleashed and is already heading towards a second season of ESL competition in 2016.

Double Tap #14: DLC to all, and to all a good fight!

PAX South & KI championships happened this past weekend and Street Fighter V approaching. Double Tap’s hosts Mikey "Key" Kenny & Jeremiah "Mezza" Ward tag team this episode with some interesting topics this time around. Key talks about his PAX South and Kim Wu 14-0 casuals experiences, as Mezza jumps on some real FGC problems and changes for the FGC 2016 scene. Even though last year was a rocky road for the FGC, Key and Mezza tackle the New Year with a high hopes from Iron Galaxy and Capcom. Also, they talk about Smash Bros and the ugly direction one tournament took.

Double Tap #16: FGC! All Rise Up!

Next wave of fighting games have been released in droves. We dive into SFV's direction now that the first majors have passed. Pokken has hit the US shores and has already received interesting reception from not only the hosts, but fans as well. Coming out strong, with a season with over $100,000 in prize money, is Pokken going to be taken seriously, or is it just a fad we won't see past Evo?

KOF14 had a marathon of characters unveiled. Promising 50 characters by release, and now currently on their 10th trailer, they are living up to their word. SNK Playmore isn't the only company pumping out content. Netherealms and Iron Galaxy have now released their own respective DLC Seasons of new characters, costumes, and updates to both MKX and KI. Some are receiving new content while Nintendo has officially called the end of DLC for Smash 4, but how much more could you add?

Double Tap #18: A Family Man Returns

With the release of SFV's 'Guile" and Killer Instinct's "Mira", Crash, Key, and Mezza are able to get their hands dirty while testing out the new characters that are rustling the scene. While everyone has been discovering tech and climbing the pro tour, Pro Esports teams have been watching closely and updating their rosters. eSports finest teams EchoFox, Global Panda Gaming, and even eLavate pick up some heavy hitting players. Listen as things get a little heated when these casters go back and for about the future of these players and teams with EVO2K16 right around the corner.
