[03/01/2025] Patience Upon The Pre-Decree That Causes Distress - By Abu Khadeejah ‘Abdul Wāḥid حفظه الله. Khuṭbah at Masjid As-Sunnah An-Nabawiyyah, Aston, Birmingham, UK.

– {No calamity befalls, but with the Leave [i.e. decision and Qadar (Divine Preordainments)] of Allah, and whosoever believes in Allah, He guides his heart [to the true Faith with certainty, i.e. what has befallen him was already written for him by Allah from the Qadar (Divine Preordainments)], and Allah is the All-Knower of everything} [Surah At-Taghabun (64): 11]
– The believer knows that the calamity is from Allah and He guides his heart.
– Statement from early Salaf explaining the above points.
– The two types of people that have traits of kufr.
– Ahadīth showing how Allah trials a person and hastens the punishment in this world instead of punishment in the hereafter.
– Greatness of reward is in accordance to the greatness of trial.
– Having patience in Allah’s decree is a sign of a person having iman in Allah.
– Decrees are divided into two categories​.
– {No calamity befalls on the earth or in yourselves but is inscribed in the Book of Decrees (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz), before We bring it into existence. Verily, that is easy for Allāh} [Surah Al-Hadid (57):22]
– The statement of the believer during calamities: All praise is due to Allah in every condition.
– Ahādith showing when the decrees were written and the correct understanding of decrees.
– The believer is pleased with the decree of Allah, even if it is painful.
– The calamities that are due to our own disobedience – major sins and the continuous minor sins.
– How we can wipe out the major sins and minor sins.
– Types of Major sins.
– Not permissible to use pre-decree as an excuse for sinning – rather we are commanded to worship and obey Allah.
– Be patient upon the calamities that occur due to pure decree.
– Repent to Allah due to calamities that occur due to your disobedience and sin.
– Being patient upon the loss of a child and the rewards that will be received.

[06/06/2025] The Importance of Choosing Good Companionship - By Abu Khadeejah ‘Abdul Wāḥid. 

- Mankind’s innate nature to love and enjoy the companionship of others.
- The varying levels and types of people in relation to their manners and adherence to the dīn. 
- “Close friends, that Day, will be enemies to each other, except for the righteous.” [Sūrah az-Zukhruf 43: 67]
- “And the Day the wrongdoer will bite on his hands [in regret] he will say, ‘Oh, I wish I had taken with the Messenger a way. Oh, woe to me! I wish I had not taken so-and-so as a friend. He led me away from the remembrance after it had come to me. And ever is Shayṭān to man, a deserter.’” [Sūrah al-Furqān 25: 27-29]
- The story of how wicked companionship caused ‘Uqbah b. Abī Mu’īṭ to return to paganism after embracing Islām.
- Examples of how ‘Uqbah harmed the Prophet ﷺ, the du’ā of the Prophet ﷺ against him, and his evil outcome along with the other chiefs of Quraysh.  
- How evil companionship caused Abū Ṭālib to die upon paganism despite the Prophet’s ﷺ earnest call for him to accept Islām. 
- The similitude of a righteous companion and a wicked companion.
- Al-Adhīmabādī (رحمه الله) on the meaning of a man being upon the religion of his close friend. 
- The two types of souls created by Allāh, and the reason why we are inclined to some people and repulsed by others. 
- The fruits of good companionship and harms of wicked companionship.
- “And hasten to forgiveness from your Lord and for Paradise that is as wide as the heavens and earth, prepared for the righteous.” [Sūrah Āli ‘Imrān 3: 133]
- Clarification that sinners are advised and called to good, but not taken as companions. 
- Advice to the youth to fear Allāh, strengthen their īmān and keep good companions.
