@Cosmic-Pint-Glass started in a cellor of a Norwich pub called the Bicycle Shop as an excuse to go down the pub and spin some records. We used to have live electronic acts set up on the pub tables and play records in the cupboard under the stairs.

To date most of the releases have been pub jams, however CPG010 moves into techno territory in style with 2 of artists we’re big fans of…. Frak and @JackPattern. The latter known for the @lustpoderosa label and their dj sets taking revellers on dark trippy journeys through time and space. A fusion of disco, acid, industrial, techno - meltdown.

Kernkraft translates as Nuclear Power and from the outset reverberating sequences visualise a bleak working environment. Mechanical sequences rotate. Clouds of sparking particles swirl overhead menacingly. A kick drum stumbles into actions, the machine has powered up. Cold hi-hats shimmer, and hollow synths give the feel of some sort of labouring workforce.

"Style" can be defined as that special ability to watermark every track with an instantly-recognizable identity.

Local Suicide, aka Munich's Brax Moody and Greek-born Vamparela, has it in spades. And following releases on labels such as Bordello, My Favorite Robot, Multi Culti, Roam, Duro and OMBRA, it only made sense that the duo would eventually find its way to Lumière Noire. 

After all, "black light" (as per the meaning of Chloé's label's name) could describe the way Local Suicide's music flirts with the more troubling zones of the listener's psyche, where danger roams and aural comfort is no longer a guarantee.

The EP's two tracks set a dark, shifty sonic tableau, in which German-American multidisciplinary artist – and a unique personality of the Berlin underground – Nicki Fehr comes to blend his voice with Vamparela's.

With its swerving bass slithering over a slow tempo, Leopard Gum is the perfect slow burner, a slice of comatose disco that will find its way to the darkest corners of nightlife – and haunt its DJ sets. The synths that come crashing across the track's Smagghe & Cross remix add their saturated signature that provide a different kind of hook through its breathless nine-minute run.

The same measured tempo is found once more on the more ethereal Already There, where Local Suicide affirm their adherence to the more captivating signatures of new wave and post disco. Permanent Vacation stalwarth Lauer adds a surprizing electro pop shimmer to the track, while Niv Ast's version maintains the tension of the original's superimposed vocals.

With Leopard Gum's opaque and impenetrable atmosphere, Local Suicide have released one of their strongest efforts to date.

Grand Marabout of the Dark Disco tribe, Kevin Pinenq-Vidal aka Baka Bakqa exercises the dancefloors with his magic waves: New Wave, Cold Wave, Dark Wave, Synthwave, Post-Punk, EBM, Indie-Dance and Italo Disco are amongst his favourite genres.

His spells are the remnants of his fascination with the '80s culture, they make him a committed artist of the Goth scene and resolutely the dance scene. Founder and Artistic Director of Gouter de Nuit (Paris), he is also a resident of Ceremony NWPP.

In just 3 years of DJing, he has created the alliance of the Parisian local scene along with international collaborations with labels like Mange Moi (Paris), Nein Records (London/Berlin), and more recently Controlla (Mexico City). 

He has been currently working on the official French release of the very promising Critical Monday label founded by Damon Jee and Bonnie Spacey (supported by Demian, Curses, Alvaro Cabana, Jennifer Cardini, Zombies in Miami, Younger Than Me and many others).

For such solid projects, Baka Bakqa wishes to develop a more immersive dimension in his events, with themes connecting the world of science fiction and occultism with the art of the table specific to the language of Gouter de Nuit (Gouter: an afternoon snack eaten by children).

Notice to fans of DJ sets: his spectrum of rhythm ranges from 70 to 180 BPM and embarks you on a journey across darkness, melancholia, nostalgia, poetry and assumed intensity!

Dark green leaves and sprawling branches formed a canopy over the water, protecting this natural place from prying eyes. It felt peaceful, a place for escaping the stresses of city life. In fact, this river held many secrets, stories that would make your hair stand on end. Its beauty was simply a facade...

Next up on XXX, the Dutch label run by DJ and producr SHMLSS, is good friend and Bordello A Parigi alumni Stijn Sadée. After two contributions to earlier releases for the label, he's now set to release his first original EP on the label, which features a remix from Smala boss Manfredas that they locked in after the Lithuanian producer saw Stijn play live last year. The aesthetics of the label are down to Stijn's brother Thomas who worked closely with him to create something that fitted with the music and his influences.
