In late 2022, Boubacar Gaye and Bassdi Koné, members of the Melbourne-based Afro-Cuban ensemble Ausecuma Beats, returned to West Africa in the culmination of an idea that had been brewing since the world first went into lockdown in early 2020. The pair wanted to return to their homes in Dakar and Bamako respectively, to be reunited with family, friends, country, and with the vibrant music communities in those cities they had left behind when emigrating to Australia.

More than this, they had a vision of bringing their three home cities - Melbourne, Australia; Dakar, Senegal; and Bamako, Mali -  together in an album that celebrated the intense creative energy coursing through the streets of these three places. 

Ausecuma Beats’ third studio album, Dakar Bamako, features a total of fourteen musicians from three cities around the world, coming together in a true cross-cultural collaboration that celebrates stories of migration, cooperation and the unifying power of music and dance as a force to bring humanity together.

‘Dakar Bamako’ will be available everywhere from Friday, February 2 via Music in Exile.

Amsterdam-based troubadour Frits Wentink springboards into label territory with Live Fast, Dwayne Young on his new Bobby Donny imprint. Branded as a safe haven for (mostly) Frits-only hardware jams on the Rhodes, Juno 60 or MPC, it aims to herald the wonky, lo-fi house musings of both himself and chosen others. Although never one to take himself too seriously, Rarely Pure, Never Simple - his debut longplayer for Wolf Music - masterfully juggled just the right amount of frivolity and playfulness with foot-shifting vigour.

Monsieur Wentink ladles those same attributes into "Dwayne Young" - a contagious brew of soulful murmurs, gated Rhodes chords and snappy kick drum oofs working in tandem. We challenge you to keep your head still throughout it -- available on June 15.

Now lot of people don’t like Mondays and we think that’s fair enough; going back to work feeling a decade older after a heavy weekend spent making memories with friends can be a chore for even for the most optimistic of us as we trudge back in to the daily grind.  Luckily, help is at hand as we've secured Dominica's unreleased summer anthem 'Gotta Let You Go'.

Having caused quite a stir in clubs and festivals across the globe throughout warmer months, we had feared that the track wasn't going to get an official release despite the likes of Jackmaster and Skream championing the track in their sets.

Thus we were delighted to hear that it would finally be arriving via Altra Moda Music this November and quickly set about securing it for premiere. Rock solid grooves, pumping synths and rolling snares underpin catchy, redolent vocals for a sunshine soaked floor filler guaranteed to ward off those winter blues.

Good question, you see how H2O think's is very different, no matter what happens to us and what we're going threw, he always got the time to goof off. O man ya'll should of scene it. That day was so funny and hilarious, they almost beat us up and was chasing us around for 2 hours straight. Lucky for us my bro's bailed our asses out and hide us. Well that was until we did some bullshit and scared Fluttershy by pretending I was a monster......... O and for the people who wonders how is she when she's mad, it's simple, look how Offspring escaped my body, he'll tell you. No trust me, when she made his ass leave my body and hide, that's when i knew "O yea, She's gonna kill me." Yea it's true I'm scared of her, DON'T tell anyone i told you this neither, ruins my reputation baby.! But Just know this. When you Have H2O's mind for one day, think of it as Chance the Rapper in his acid rap days. Yea it's that trippy. His whole mind is a acid trip, and i always ask myself, how is he able to control it and be a beast in battle mode? Guess the world may never know.
