Baby Rollén’s Slump Recordings imprint gets ready to release the debut, full length EP from Stuttgart based producer and DJ, mpeg.

Having released single tracks on seminal underground labels including Haŵs and Wex, both for Ukrainian war aid compilations - amongst a slew of incredible other artists; mpeg is swiftly becoming a name on the European underground network. With his tracks already in the hands of DJs including Demi Riquisimo, Eris Drew and more - the young talent steps towards the release of the False Flat EP, his premiere extended player.

Spanning across four original tracks and one remix from the label founder Baby Rollén, mpeg outlines and his hypnotic take on house music with injections of his other influences from breaks to 2-step. The False Flat EP epitomises is his skill of blurring the lines between dance music‘s sub genres, encapsulating a coherent sound that traverses across the entire record.

The heavy subs and mezmerising percussion of Slot 16 contrasts the delicate musicality of later tracks including Wirepad or Orbit Rework. An expanse of production knowledge built for the dancefloor from this burgeoning new talent. Baby Rollén’s remix ventures into a heads-down UK underground sonic, where Slot 16 transforms into a sweaty warehouse breaks ride, teeming with suspense.

PREMIERE: Solar Suite - Tasman Transmission [Haŵs]

Every morning without fail, just as dawn broke, a small boat would appear at the waters edge to whisk the most curious of people off to an unknown destination. The boat only ever returned empty, slowly it traced its routine daily journey back and forth across the calm waters. Rumours had long circulated about where those who boarded the vessel disembarked; some said it led to a utopian island, others attested to it taking people to their final resting place. Only those willing to take the risk would find out.

Aldonna's music is perfectly tuned for late nights on the floor; think of sweaty rooms filled with energetic dancers. The Melbourne producer came up through the ranks in the city with her party series Re-Leaf and is now expanding her name across the pond with her bright, supercharged productions. Her debut EP Morph, which comes with remixes from Alex Kassian and Marli, lets us into some of the influences that fuel her as a DJ, taking us on a nostalgic ride through warm proggy trance, euphoric rave and acid-laced breaks.

out the shape of the old brickwork above the shadow of the trees. It had been there for thousands of years, untouched and mysterious in the midst of the thick, dense jungle. It was said that inside there were precious jewels and treasures from a bygone era and that was what they were here to find out.

The ‘Turtle’, as it was known by the locals’ had never been explored before for it was said to be cursed with ancient spells and dark magic which might make it treacherous for an untrained adventurer. Yet now, here they were, wandering towards the magnificent old structure with the intent of raiding all it laid claim to. It was time to enter the turtle..


 
Fio Faa is set to kickstart a new record label, Sunset Drifters. The first release on the newly launched imprint comes from himself and features four fast paced tracks which sit somewhere between the domain of house, nu trance and techno. This track in particular remained us of those old race car video games from the 90’s, the type where a fast car careered through the snow capped mountain side in glorious pixelated chaos.
