I stumbled across an uninhabited white mansion when I was out for a run in the countryside. I got chatting to the security guard looking after it, who let me look round the grounds. He told me a ballet dancer once lived there. I made up a song about the ballet dancer. 
I ended up pouring a lot of my anxieties into the story of poor dancer- they have ended up being a horrendous mix of my personal and political fears. 
I think this song is kind of fantastically ridiculous- an OTT 10 minute epic, with a whole horror-theme 2 minute instrumental at the end. I love it.

“Comet Coggia” (2024) for Orchestra was inspired by the path of the Great Comet of 1874 (C/1874 H1). Discovered by the French astronomer Jérôme Eugène Coggia on April 17, 1874 in Marseille, it was visible to the naked eye by June 1874 and attentively observed in both hemispheres. As Coggia’s comet gathered strength, it caused quite a stir in the United States, and even a panic among some, so much so that Mark Twain satirized the comet in his short story "A Curious Pleasure Excursion” which was published July 6, 1874 in the New York Herald. There are many historical accounts of the comet’s path and observers noted a beautiful naked-eye tail lengths reaching 70 degrees as the comet passed closest to the Earth on July 23, 1874. 

There are many composers throughout history who have written music inspired by comets, planets and the stars. For me, in addition to the music being inspired by the path of the comet, I was also envisioning the global connectedness and unity that comes with such an event. It serves as a reminder that no matter our nationality, beliefs or location on this planet, we all look up and share the night sky and the vastness and power of the universe. 

“Comet Coggia” was commissioned by the University of Illinois Symphony Orchestra to mark the 150-year anniversary of the orchestral program at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana.

This is my re-telling of an old Jewish Folktale. 
As always, I've expanded on the story, while I hope being true to the spirit of the original.  
I think it's a beautiful, profound story. It's one of those stories where I think 'It's about everything'. I'm not sure if it's about quite everything...but it's definitely about the relationship between inner spirituality and community, faith, hope, and stories.

The opus « Up In The Sky » is the follow-up of the apocalyptic odyssey initiated
on When Worlds Collide, which was inspired by Carl Sagan novel Pale
Blue Dot and also by eponym 1951 Rudolph Maté's movie. Thomas Barrandon
once again asserts his retro-futuristic universe, a synthwave revisited somewhere
between Vitalic, Make Up and Vanity Set, Moderat or Brian Eno. Inspired this
time by the poetic images of Michel Ocelot’s cinema, he evokes the discovery
by two spacemen of a new blue planet, discovering its richness, its fauna and
its dangers.

Land Of Sea

All of my tracks on Soundcloud are free to download. 100% of my tracks on Soundcloud are my own original works, I don't do covers, arrangements or remixes.  I mainly write melodies, my pieces usually consist of a lot of melodic content and are melody driven. My music is multi-instrumental, I use many different instruments.. Many of my pieces contain more notes than a Pop song, less notes than a symphony. 

I compose music in many genres: Children's, Jazz, Melodic, Ethnic, Space, Halloween, Classical, Southern/Western, Rock. My music encompasses a lot of variety, it is eclectic. Freedom. All my pieces have been notated, contact me and send me your email address if you want free PDF's of particular compositions. I currently use Sibelius 7.1.3 and Noteperformer. I have been writing music since I was in Junior High School, I have some songs with lyrics, but most are instrumentals. I was in band in High School and College, and I have been a member in several choirs as well.  

Update: I have recently uploaded virtually all of the compositions I have composed since 1997. I have included playlists as part of my offerings, with compositions from many novel genres.

I am open to collaborations with members of Soundcloud.

I have many pieces that are crafted primarily using the Aeolian scale. Some examples include, "Exotic Emerald", "Starlight Vow", "Bard 2 with Violin", "An Evening in Chatham Bay" and "Sacred Turkish Fountain".
