A lifelong pianist, James spent years in jazz bands, orchestras, and ensembles before falling in love with the sounds of modern house and techno. He now draws upon his musicality and eclectic taste as a DJ to present and expansive vision of dance music, bridging the past with the present. James is the co-founder and resident of the Planet Love party, and a regular in the queer underground of Los Angeles. He's made recent appearances at Sunday Sunday in CDMX, Por Detroit in LA, and Le Bain in NYC.

Bertie is a DJ, producer, party promoter and radio host based in Naarm. Expect an accordant amalgamation of disco, house, acid, prog and genre blenders across the wider spectrum of dance music. Her musical journeys are exactly that – a guided exploring from start to finish.

This cultivated sound has seen her become a discernible force in the underground music scene, performing at some of Australia's biggest festivals including Strawberry Fields, Pitch Arts & Music, Sugar Mountain, Gaytimes and Beyond the Valley, and support the likes of CC:DISCO!, Denis Sulta, Bradley Zero, Kornel Kovacs and Patrick Holland.

Outside of performing she shares her ever-expanding collection of laid back groovers via her show ‘Cup of Bertea’ on Skylab Radio, as well as regularly appearing on Hope St Radio. She co-curates an event series ‘Club Aqueous’, prioritising artists from underrepresented backgrounds. And she produces dance-floor ready house music, with her single 'Carabiner' released on Phenomena Records in November 2023; the first from her debut EP set for release early 2024.

Originally hailing from Tel Aviv, now based in Berlin, David Elimelech had his first appearances in the underground queer scene of Tel Aviv. His unique understanding and sensitivity towards all things Chicago, Detroit, and New York House brought him to Berlin, where after joining the UZURI Recordings & Bookings family, he became widely known for his vinyl collection, filled with rarities.

David has out together a fantastic mix to kick of the podcast for 2024. Enjoy :)

Hiii, Octo Octa here! I'm sharing a new mix series I'm doing under the name "Groovy Girl" and the first entry is "Bang The Drum" <3 

It is a house and acid percussive groover of a mix that will hopefully have you raving where ever you are. Mixed on two Technics 1210 M5Gs and a Pioneer A9 Mixer, plus some overdubs on the recording. 

This release is a Mix CD tracked so you can jump back over and over to your favorite part. The CD insert has photos of all of the records I used for the mix in order.

I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed making it. Can't wait to get started on the next in the series!!
