Opening with the ASMR ambience of Jin’s “Spring,” the next Various Artists mini compilation on On Board Music dives deep into a colourful and rhythmically unpredictable collection. There’s left-field club gear from the inimitable Polygonia, a dubby roller from Nicole and glitchy, downtempo electronics from Mown. Completing the EP is alow-slung house cut from Ukrainian duo Na Nich & Vera Logdanidi and an eerie drone piece from label founder Laura BCR.

"Twice Lived is a series of reactions. I’d like to say this album has meaning behind it, a purpose that once thought has now been achieved in this final form, but the truth is I had no intention with any of it. I would start with a sound I liked and use that as a base to create more as a response to the initial. This cycle could go on and on until the original sounds vanished into thin air. Why do I like some sounds and hate others? Why does this switch from day to day? Every element of every song has been some sort of subconscious answer to the former, to my external life, either by mimicking inspirations and emotions, or directly opposing them. Like a series of diary entries on the same page, written over the top of each other, this is a tangle of reactions morphed together over the course of 2 years."

Track Premiere: Serpentskin - Ketamine Fields Forever

Sillon is a collection of tracks composed between 2021 and 2024 in Nantes, inspired by places visited along the way—from the sunlit Mediterranean paths of Niolon to the enclosed spaces of the archives from another world. Each track is a step along a furrow carved through wandering, like snapshots capturing moving landscapes, solitude, quiet rebirths, struggles with technology, chance encounters, and transformations of all kinds. Sillon aims to bridge the gap between a mental map and a road map. It’s a scar—the mark of passing time, the imprints of regional train lines across the French countryside—a necessary cut, a scarification that fuels movement.

Drawing inspiration from Lyra Pramuk’s vocal work and Mondkopf’s massive, dramatic compositions, Sillon is the result of Mimmo’s deep dives into extreme sound design, his love for dancing to fast, violent music, and his endless pursuit of intensity and emotion. The sound blends ambient, hypnotic techno, nostalgic traces of EBM, and a hint of dub.

The cover features a photograph by Clément Surcouf of Yann Efflamme wearing a clay mask. His face is multiplied through layers of transparency. In the background, a landscape reminiscent of old Windows wallpapers suggests a kind of serene perfection—whispering that the digital world, the world of technology, is where happiness resides. A world smooth, without rough edges. Empty.

Yann’s physical presence, masked and vibrant, sharply contrasts with this artificial stillness. It hints at human intrusion into this void-like technological space—the very thing Sillon attempts to express. My voice, ever-present throughout the record, flows through it like a slow, sticky poison, infiltrating the furrow I’ve carved.

Le quatrième épisode du podcast UltraSoftcare s’ouvre sur les mots d’Alan Watts, interrogeant notre perception du réel. Sommes-nous dans un rêve éveillé, une introspection constante ?

KayTV développe cette idée dans son live à travers un tissage sonore où field recording et textures organiques s’entrelacent. Les bruits de pas dans la neige et les cloches des Pottoks - guides sonores des juments à travers le brouillard - ancrent notre écoute au réel. À l’image de ces cloches rassemblant le troupeau au-delà du visible, des voix tribales émergent, échos d’un autre temps, reliant l’instant présent à une mémoire plus vaste.
Autour, des nappes acides sinueuses croisent de profondes reverbs étirées, tapissant l’arrière-plan avec harmonie. Parfois, des chants d’oiseaux; parfois, un silence suspendu. Puis, à mesure que l’on avance, des pads lumineux percent la brume sonore, traçant une lueur dans l’obscurité.

Sur un rythme trip-hop lourd et tribal, KayTV nous guide à travers des paysages mouvants, entre errance contemplative et exploration sensorielle. Une performance immersive où la musique devient lecture sensible d’un monde parallèle, toujours présent mais rarement perçu.
