Review:
Philips' slick live funkery gets the rubdown from a few familiar Timewarp players. With Tonkin's stark, emphatic voice still very much the primary focus throughout, all manner of dub vibes are carefully laced around his talents. Ranging from horn-heavy, synth-squiggling p-funk (MustBeat Crew's remix of "String Pusher") to super-smooth digi soul dub flavours (Auditors Domination remix of "Ill At Ease") via ruder, bass-heavy rubs by both jazz.K.lipa and Maikon, Timewarp have excelled themselves commissioning such a rich tapestry of party joints. There's no snobbery around this badboy.

Niles Philips feat Tonkin - Nose Dive (jazz.K.lipa remix)

Jazz.K.lipa is back on BBP with brand new big bad and bassy EP. 4 golden cuts of dancefloor danamite is what we have in stock for you on this boomin EP. German producer Jazz.K.Lipa has been preparing this special treat for us, since he started working with fellow funky producer and countryman JiggyJoe on some tunes last year. The result is much more than the regular mashup edits  - it big productions with lots of heavy beats, basslines and synth crossing many genres. 

The EP starts out with the ghetto funk banging I Follow River, which takes a sweet pop vocals and gives it heavy bass treatment. Down With My Trumpet goes moombah on us with classic bass groove and some catchy vocal cuts.  This beats goes on the skanky Soundboy Go Home, which brings new life to some classic reggae vocals, which it put on fire with some big basslines. Finally the EP ends with a bang with the low down heavy Children Of The Revolution with Barrio Katz in the co-producer chair and featuring Seth Schwarz on live violin.

With this EP we are sure Jazz.K.lipa will turn quite a few heads and make some big noize in the Ghetto Funk scene…
