That orbit called dancefloor has always been an integral part of the wide musical universe of Massivan, one way or another.

Now, “The Belt” comes as a cosmic manifestation of that very fact: circulating steadily around an interplanetary house groove and fueled by spaced out synth pads, commander Ivan Pezzini has set the controls of his supersonic spacecraft for a zero gravity trip to the moon, the stars & beyond.

In this particular case, the final destination is Venus most likely. And you are invited to dance on the commando bridge until we get there... from inner to outer space and back. Intergalactic!

„Merry Go Round“ is a definite highlight of DelaDap´s album „Bring It On“. The stand out track showcases all of the band´s qualities, their brand of soulful, danceable Urban Pop in full flight, with a powerful rhythm and a rich arrangement. No wonder the accompanying video sees singer Yola B, who delivers a great vocal, take off into the sky …

DelaDap mastermind Stani Vana´s character is stuck on the ground,  if only for the duration of the short film for „Merry Go Round“. Vana´s first as a video director is as entertaining as the song itself, all the while his musical creation „Merry Go Round“ is making the rounds, in a wide open musical sky, in the ears and minds of it´s listeners and on the dancefloor(s).

Last but definitely not least, Massivan himself takes his very own beat to the tech main room (at 3AM approximately), infusing quite the punch and some authentic island winter storm darkness to go with it... until the sky is clear and all grey clouds have disappeared. And so, 2018 starts out with an ever evolving pulse: this is what the dance of life sounds like.

With “the blackbook translations” series, Solar Moon showcases their ongoing love for dub versions & remix work - highlighting the essence of their latest album “Blackbook” by letting talented friends in high places take another fresh perspective on its original chapters. Open mind for a different view.

Budapest based chillwave superheroes GELKA (who just compiled & mixed the most recent CAFE DEL MAR compilation) teamed up with fellow hungarian producer FORTEBA for a sensationally smooth reinterpretation of Solar Moon’s “The way we fall” featuring Washington based love poet JEN… sounding like the perfect soundtrack to a magic sunday morning ice skate excursion on frozen lake Balaton of sorts.  

MASSIVAN, renown DJ/producer from Ibiza’s neighboring island Formentera (and acclaimed regular contributor to compilations like HOTEL COSTES), takes the downtempo bubble funk of the original “dibidibi” (featuring the uniquely treated vocals of Abiodun aka Don Abi) on a sailing trip through the more balearic part of the mediterranean sea on a bright, clear & warm summerday.

Meanwhile, Germany’s most authentic and experienced dub/reggae masterproducer DUBVISIONIST transcends the rather fragile original vibe of “the way we fall” into minimalistic roots drenched outer space, adding a massive amount of atmospheric subfrequencies… plus those mesmerizing dubs & delays of course.

Gelka feat. Phoenix Pearle - Being You

Born the son of a violinist 1971 as an italian in Switzerland, Massivan (aka Ivan Pezzini) enjoyed a classical music education, starting to play the violin by the age of six. Not much later, Ivan picked up on the drums… and finally became a student at the American Institute of Music of Vienna in 1993.
 
In 2000, Massivan co-founded the label imprint "Modest Records" and released five singles under the "Josef's Ruhe" moniker. One of them, "Zürihorn", went straight in the dancefloor charts, became a major peak time track on the global club circuit and got massive support from djs like John Digweed, Sasha, Timo Maas and Steve Lawler.
 
After having produced progressive house for 4 years, Massivan felt it was time for change… and so he started to join forces with with Jens Andersson. Their "Calmstreet" project came up with a fine blend of pop and lounge, resulting in an acclaimed longplayer  called "Third Wave", released on "Mole Listening Pearls" in September of 2002.

During spring of 2003, Massivan moved to the tiny balearic island of Formentera (near Ibiza), where he got himself a dj residency at the infamous globetrotter hotspot Blue Bar, playing sunset gigs there ever since... as well as co-compiling & mastering most of the popular Blue Bar compilations. 

In may 2005, Massivan released his first solo album "Daylife", which marked a shift in musical direction, more towards jazzy, chilled house fueled by latin-beats.
 
The second solo album "Massenwahn" came about in late 2006…. packed to the max with pure electro pop and psy-trance infused club sound. The same year, Massivan became resident dj for the "Gorgeous" night at legendary club Space Ibiza and mixed the "Gorgeous" compilation. 

April 2007 saw the release of "Wide", Massivan's third solo effort. "Wide" showcased more of a  "downtempo-with-a-touch-of-jazz" sound, featuring several top notch studio cats/live musicians, and was accompanied by a string of highly acclaimed remix EPs (called "Wider" and "Widest"). 

The fourth Massivan solo album, "Family With 3 Hearts", got a worldwide release through Pschent records in may 2011, including the hit single "2 B @ 1 With The World" which made it onto a lot of prestigeous compilations. Over the years, Massivan's music has been included several times on a.o. Hotel Costes and Buddha Bar, just to name the most famous.

In late 2011, Ivan finished the production of another outstanding project for his own label imprint Pmusica: the album "Formentera" by singer Bea Luna was co-produced by Massivan with german drummer don Wolfgang Haffner, again featuring a string of first-call jazz musicians from around the world.

Lately, Massivan began working on the next longplayer called "Satiesfied", due for release in late summer of 2012 on Poets Club Records. Meanwhile, the re-release of his 2005 solo debut "Daylife" for Poland territory (by public demand!) is just around the corner… and the string of special digital edition EPs released through Pmusica over the course of the last year or so keeps a special place in the playlists & ears of of the global dj elite. The journey continues…
