It's come to that time of the year again, well a bit later, but you know what they say... Time to unleash the beast once more yet a different one it is. Still following the same thread: moving forwards whilst looking backwards, continuing the explorations and the excavations to and from Knowhere. Unexpected blends and mash-ups which will hopefully give birth to new ideas for some, inspirations for others. Well, they have for us as we can now turn this page and move on... As you might've guessed by now, this message can be seen as an announcement: a new episode, airing soon on Good Morning Tapes. Dark Entries returns to the steam room with Coatshek’s Sound Bath. For their SoundBaths series, now-defunct poppers brand Double Scorpio commissioned artists to make mixes for an imaginary queer bathhouse. When asked to contribute, San Francisco-based artist Coatshek aka @sheki-cicelsky took the opportunity to create original compositions. The resulting album, Sound Bath, serves as a masterclass in slow and sultry ambient techno. Taking inspiration from Pink Floyd, Manuel Göttsching’s E2-E4, and his friend’s DJ mixes (particularly Nick Moss and Matthew Paul’s for “Por Detroit”), Coatshek landed on 107 bpm as the optimal speed for sauna sex. With just a few synths, his Telecaster, and “lots of delays, reverb, and weed,” he sculpted stunning cuts like the effortlessly grooving “Softest” and the psych-laced “Triple Virgo.” The cover for Sound Bath was designed by Coatshek’s fiancé Nate Sprecher, and features photographs by Luke Kraman taken at The Ever Afters campout. The album also includes an insert featuring the Double Scorpio SoundBaths series artwork by Blake Wright. Equally hypnogogic and sexually supercharged, Sound Bath situates the bathhouse as a liminal dreamspace of unbounded erotic potentiality.

I’ve been experimenting further with re-tuning everything I own into Carnatic scales and using chance operations in my sequencing to control slides, accents and reverb and delay sends.

I used to use maxmsp to retune synths using midi guitar mode and pitch bend on each channel with a snazzy custom patch I built but now oddsound just does it all for me. I think they built weird scales into live itself now but oddsound MTS does it better. I've become slightly obsessed with the bhairavi raga scales, they're dreamy. 

Is anyone else really suffering with live 12? It crashes all the time for me when any project reaches over a few tracks in size...

Based in Bangkok, she is a friendly yet formidable force in the thai electronic scene. This singer-songwriter, DJ, and producer explores music on her own terms.

Chucheewa contributes a unique sound to Bangkok’s vibrant music scene, with several of her vocal tracks co-produced with Thai legend artists such as ‘The Photo Sticker Machine,’ ‘Cyndi Seui,’ and ‘Casinotone.’ As a DJ, she shares her radiant energy on the dance floor through a variety of sounds. Her range spans slow jazz, funk, minimal, breaks to raving house and everything in between. Serving her music with the intention to satisfy her curious taste, blending in many songs from Thai artists in a nod to her roots.

As a co-founder of Soundkoh Collective, a concert promoter for Conflakes, a festival curator for Summer Sound and one of the forces of BCR (Bangkok Community Radio), she uses music as a tool to expand community. Promoting artists and uniting dancers through her own glistening sets, Chucheewa brings us all together through her unconditional love of all things groovy.

Recently she just made a european tour gracing the decks of Panoramabar, Macki Festival and other cool places.

@Krijka is a Paris-born, Seoul-based DJ and producer making waves in the city’s underground with his sci-fi-laced techno sets. Atmospheric, instinctual, and full of narrative depth.  

Emerging from the shadows of Ring (KR), a venue known for its raw energy, he began shaping a voice that drifts between instinct and intention. As a resident at Teller, he’s become a key voice in Seoul’s ever evolving club landscape. With his debut EP Sensor turning heads and his new release 'E-Tribes EP' on Animals On Psychedelics, Krijka continues to carve his path with quiet intensity and a distinct sense of vision.

Recording under different aliases, the Burrell Brothers were the backbone
of Nu Groove Records. This New York label started in 1987 and took
inspiration from Trax Records, both musically and aesthetically. This
compilation compiles the absolute best of the Burrell's output and in
doing so is giving us a valuable insight to the much overlooked roots of
New York house music.
