wie viele Leute der Generation D&B ist der aus dem Raum Bremen stammende Dayton wesentlich von House, Hip Hop, Soul und Funk geprägt worden und kam durch seinen Bruder im zarten Alter von 13 Jahren das erste Mal ans Mischpult. Nicht, dass es beim ersten Mal immer weh tut, aber sehr schnell war klar, dass die Musik ihn weiter dazu bewegen würde, in 1997 seinen ersten Plattenkauf in Richtung Jungle/D&B zu tätigen.

Masterpeace Recordings is the resulting product of the creative mind of a Bristol Original Junglist known as DJ Mixjah.  Mixjah, formerly known as DJ Rapid, has performed at legendary events including Joy, Newstyle, Future Funk, BreakBeat Culture, One Nation, Mutiny, Life and Shanti Sound. I've been mixing vinyl since 1992, fucking around on a set of belt driven marantz decks in my mates bedroom... Started off mixing house and hardcore and spent an absolute fortune on records from 1991-1995. Djing whenever and wherever possible.. Got rid of all my kit and began mixing again in 2006. I've played regularly for BAD BASS in Bristol with the likes of Brockie, Dazee, Ramjack, Ray Kieth and other jungle legends.. I have a residency with Bristol Sounds Drum n Bass. I have also had the privilege to play on the Army truck at St Pauls carnival. My roots come from break beat hardcore, but I'm trying out making all sorts of genres of music as i've Dj'd everything over the years. have a listen guys and enjoy! I pride myself in still playing vinyl and adding to my fine collection!  New event to add to my list - landed a set at BOOMTOWN on the RAVEYARD stage!!!! Awesome!! Now producing music under the name Diligent on MasterPeace recordings the brainchild of DJ Mixjah!!! Thanks to those who supported the Amazon Jungle LP!!!! She spins styles from Buddha Bar to naaasty Dnb & has played all of those from the UK to Melbourne. 
She knows how to work a floor to critical dance response & has been there, done that & sometimes designed the T-shirt too.
She loves playing both live & on the radio & has been doing both those since the early 90’s laying down the basslines on the album of life.
Ann D is a technology refugee but can lock onto a good tune from anywhere on the planet

Long version
Ann D started Dj-ing in the time honoured way, playing a weekly 3 hour show on a pirate in the 90’s, not because she woke up one morning wanting to be a DJ but because it was the only way to get the sort of show she wanted to listen to. After years of going to blue's clubs, festivals and dancing her way through many music styles she had a vinyl collection that ranged from Prince Fari, Alpha & Omega, Beefheart, The Velvet Underground to The Orb, the dirtiest English & German techno & acid, Breaks, Chill out, World music, Jungle and DnB - that’s the kinda radio show she wanted to listen to.
Bizarrely and despite not having decks or being able to mix a cake, after about a year she was booked to play out, at which point she thought I’d better buy some technics and learn how to mix.
Since then she has gone on to play all over the UK, Europe, Mexico and Australia playing with everyone from Rootsman, Richard Kirk, Aphex Twin, Mickey Finn, Benny Page, Tayo, The SUF Liberators & The Orb on their tour, she was resident at a night called Headcharge which often made the DJ mag & Mixmag top ten best nights in the UK before the council closed the venue down, she’s guested on numerous Radio shows in the UK, Denmark, Berlin & Cyprus, set up Djing classes for young women, appeared on Channel 4, produced the soundtrack for a photographer’s book launch, written articles for various music mags and still continues to play on the radio with a weekly show on Sheffield Live Sunday evening 7-9pm - Weekend Breaks & Angry Kittens, & the first Thursday/third Friday on Gumbo FM called Reality Wobbles 8-10pm & thinks she’s lucky to be able to share her tunes.
