A runaway of the vibrant music scene of Tel Aviv, songwriter Tomer-David Rapaport (aka STITCX) arrived in the U.S. ten years ago, and cut his teeth in America as he toured relentlessly with his bands MOTHER’S ANGER (Dionysus Records) and REIGNWOLF. There have been endless miracles on his journey: His debut album was produced by Mike Davis of the legendary MC5. The sophomore, “Sniper” by Seattle mastermind Jack Endino (Mudhoney, Soundgarden, Nirvana) and Dan Hoal (Rancid). Ben Shepherd from Soundgarden was a guest bassist on MOTHER’S ANGER’s third release, “Escaping Revolution,” which is based on a book written by Rapaport.

In the last three years David, along with drummer Joseph Braley (who joined MOTHER’S ANGER in 2007), took on world tours, opening for BLACK SABBATH and THE PIXIES as well as playing major festivals and shows all over the world with their subsequent band, REIGNWOLF. Inspired by those years of musical excitement, David spent six months in his studio writing over a hundred songs in preparation for the next musical adventure. 

Teaming up with longtime friend and captivating Seattle-based singer Kate Blackstock, the trio dubbed themselves MASZER.  « “I met the boys a few years ago through mutual friends in the Seattle music scene,” says Blackstock. “I was quickly a big fan of them as musicians & as people. After only knowing me a few months, Mothers Anger agreed to play a benefit show I was having for my sick father. They've had a big space in my heart ever since.” 

The band name means 'tithing' in Hebrew (מְעַשֵּׂר), and is far from a cast-off name; it’s a principle for the band’s operation as a creative entity. The band is committed to donating at least 10% of its profits to an organization that has helped many a musician (Rapaport included), MusiCares.
