作品解説：
タイトルの"Olive Crown"は、委嘱のお話をくださった山田和樹さんのお名前から、「平和の象徴とされるオリーブの樹」や「オリンピックの勝者に贈られるオリーブの冠」をイメージしてつけました。
勝利の栄光を讃える明るいファンファーレのような主題で始まり、のびやかなメロディーが優しさ、穏やかさにあふれる平和への希望を歌います。色鮮やかな転調も楽しんでいただけたら嬉しいです。

Program notes;
The title "Olive Crown" was inspired by the name of Kazuki Yamada, who asked me to compose this piece. The name "Kazuki" is made up of the Chinese characters for "peace" and "tree". In creating this piece, I was inspired by the image of an olive tree, which is a symbol of peace, and an olive crown, which is given to the winner of the Olympic Games.
The piece starts with a bright fanfare praising the glory of victory, and the spacious melody sings of hope for peace. I hope you enjoy the modulation.

This is the world premiere of my new(er) counterpoint in its intended form. Dr. Jonathan Guist recorded ten different tracks and then played over them to perform the piece in my undergraduate composition recital on May 4, 2016.

文化学園大学第10回卒業イベント《いばら姫》のために書き下ろした作品です。イベントはテーマとなる物語を元にファッションショーと演劇が融合し、文化学園の学生が衣装・演出・広報など様々な方向から１年かけて創り上げていきます。大学間コラボレーションとして、日本体育大学のパフォーマンス、武蔵野音楽大学のオーケストラ演奏も行われ、作曲学科は場面の展開や尺に応じたオリジナル曲を提供しました。
《祝いの宴》は「いばら姫」の終盤、少年が姫を眠りの世界から救い出した後のお祝いの場面のための楽曲です。前半は集まった貴族たちが王族を祝福する優雅なワルツ。後半は王様から勲章を授けられた少年が、誇らしげに堂々と歩くような４拍子の音楽になります。

This piece was written for the 10th graduation event of Bunka Gakuen University, "Sleeping Beauty".
