The excellent and long running Moodmusic label continues a fine run of form in 2016 with a tight new two tracker from Germany’s Jonas Saalbach.
Saalbach has been making deep impressions since around 2011, releasing his impactful club music on labels like Crossfrontier Audio and Bedrock as well as Einmusika. 
He is a subtle and suggestive producer who goes long with both cuts here and really casts you under his spell as a result.
‘Atar’ is exquisitely slow burning and slow building. It is a rich, melodic track that has rooted rubber drums rolling for over seven minutes and above it elegant and epic pads and melodies forever unfold. Perfect for the dead of night or to open up a party,
it brims with trance inducing majesty and delicate drones.
On the flip, ‘Sapphire’ takes a similarly patient, arcing approach and again sweeps you off your feet with a real sense of mood driven musical class. Glassy tinkles, sonorous bell sounds and smeared, angelic chords all add up to a warm and
romantic intensity that will make for some truly standout moments on the ‘floor.
Once again here Moodmusic has got the very best out of their artists and the resulting EP is sure to live long in the memory.

Dear friends of Connaisseur,

In our scene, a decade is a long time.

When we started the label, we didn't have a master plan, we simply wanted to put out good music we loved, of which we were sure others would love it as well. The way Connaisseur subsequently grew came naturally. If you are music lovers like we are, current musical tendencies will of course always have an infuence on your sound, but basically we stayed true to ourselves and our core has always stayed the same. Yes, we love melodies, yes, we love deepness and yes, we love great emotions, but in which electronic style these are conveyed, is rather secondary. That is our leitmotif, from "Eve By Day" until today and every day to come.

For our anniversary release, we had the idea of asking for collaborations only, as we like the energy of two creative minds coming together and creating something special. Some of the chosen couples had already worked together, others had not. As a result, we now have 6 collaborations, which will be released digitally in two parts and as a selection of three tracks from the two parts on a very nice, limited vinyl.

We are very happy about the variety of styles we have received: From modern trance in the best possible manner fromOlderic and Peter Pardeike, over timeless Detroit-infuenced techno-guardian sound by the two legends Aril Brikha and Chymera, start-of-the-art melodic tech-house from our fgureheads Lehar and Musumeci, a cover-version of the 90ies alternative rock classic „Pets“ from Pornos for Pyros by our norse darlings Of Norway in collaboration with the Scandinavian pop- star Linnea Dale and the multi-instrumentalist Preben Olram, a Warp-style electronica pearl by the Wareika sidekick project Silky Raven together with Hamburg club-dj legend Solaris, to last but not least a techy guarantor by Maltese pirate The Element and Connaisseur label head Alex Flitsch.

This is part one of 10y of Connaisseur featuring Olderic & Peter Pardeike, Lehar & Musumeci and Silky Raven & Solaris.

Jesse Calosso & Bas Ibellini link with Sheff for a new three tracker on Cuttin Headz that brings plenty of chunky house music goodness and includes a remix from Ben Rau.

Calosso is a born and bred New Yorker who brings all the musical vitality of that city to his music. It has come on Tuskegee, Whippin, Hot Creations and Cuttin' Headz, and made him one of the most interesting names in the game in recent years. London's Bas Ibellini is a fellow tech titan with credits on Tuskagee who also founded his own Peculiar party, while featuring on both originals is Sheff. A man of great aesthetics, merging philosophies and concepts together, he is a modern day ‘Egyptian lover meets P-Diddy’ with a Greek feta twist who puts the ‘P’ in Positive.

Ride The Rhythm is a quick and slick house track with stripped back but bouncing drums, infectious percussion and a bassline that never lets up. The results are perfectly hypnotic as subtle percussion and deep, husky male vocals add to the atmosphere. Remixer Ben Rau is a man who knows how to lay down a solid groove from running his own Inkal label and its sister Meta. Here he ups the ante, with warm, loopy drums and one of his signature bouncy basslines barrelling along and taking you with it for the ride.

Last original Make You is more clipped and punchy, with perfectly swung drums getting you in the groove and as the low slung bass line plunges deep. More trippy synths, effects and muttered vocals add colour to the track, which is sure to get big reactions every time.

This is another fresh and contemporary house EP from some of the best in the game right now

Supernature unleashes Tamer Malki’s soulful mystery with the emotional four-track EP, Lifted.

Tamer has been picking up well deserved international attention with his recent release, ‘Change Your Mind,’ on Kindish (Get Physical’s sister label). His sound is instinctive and current; it evokes a level of emotion that is both uplifting and grounding. You can hear his desert ancestry in-between the bass and claps, feeling its warmth in resonant melody.

The word DEEP comes to mind when pounding this EP, but that’s an understatement. Perhaps there are no words to communicate the primitive sounds the soul makes, luckily there is music for that, and Tamer Malki is speaking the enigmatic language of the heart in both Lifted and Steel Breeze. AlexKid and Fabio Giannelli, serve up remixed variations that add a whole new dimension to an already seamless production.

Lifted sweeps you off your feet, and dissolves the ground below, evoking images of an astral dream; your body effortlessly carried over villages and cities, over sand dunes and mountains, beckoned by far away drums and mysterious vocals by Alex Nazar. Tribal percussion, sonorous bass and well-paced snares only start the journey through an orchestra of discord and harmony which is the human experience. All a bit heady but deeply moving and incredibly danceable.

Fabio Giannelli, with 13 years of dance music experience and some summer hits also coming out of Get Physical and Steve Lawler’s, Viva Warriors, brings to the Lifted remix a more techy sound and a quicker delivery of hefty bass, not forgoing the airy galactic elements of the original track. Fabio amplifies the discord bringing listeners to a level of restful unease which is perfectly timed and then placated by the tracks deep and alluring vocals.

Steel Breeze, is possibly on the lighter side, with deep native bass sounds which meet the modern world in sonic alchemy. Kicking off with a deep melody and travelling bass, this track’s got undeniable rhythm and a sound that carries. Wafting guitar riffs laid over rain sticks and Tamer’s signature spaced sounds bring captivating notions of warm Balearic sunsets or even a midnight jungle rendezvous. Always blending dark with the light, the deep groovy bass could also easily take you through sunrise and into oblivion. 
AlexKid, is renowned for his remixes from Nina Kraviz to Damian Lazarus. His collaborations with M.A.N.D.Y and home base at Watergate club in Berlin have made him an integral part of the Berlin music scene and he brings all that force to his Steel Breeze Tooldub Remix.
