International electronic music mastermind Four Tet made a highly anticipated return to his KH moniker with ‘Looking At Your Pager’, quickly earning its title as one of the most iconic tracks of the year. Following remixes from CLIPZ and Solomun, Chris Lake serves up his version.

Injecting a darker, weightier spin on the original, Lake sprinkles snippets of the already-timeless vocals over a bedrock of rolling bass, warehouse stabs and crunchy drum work.

"Don't Leave Me This Way" is one of our favourite club songs. From the original Harold Melvin & The Bluenotes, through the incredible Thelma Houston to the Communards electro-80s masterpiece, it has been a dancefloor bomb that has touched millions. It works wonders even when sampled out of context (like in Flashmob's "Need In Me"). 

Despite all the classics, we wanted a version that brought the iconic vocal line up to date with a bang, so we enlisted one of our favourite electronic producers of today, Fab Massimo and teamed him up with Kevin McKay with a brief to create a version that would smash everywhere from an underground basement to the big stages at a festival. Have they delivered? Well, we think so. 

Their performance, featuring the brilliant vocals of T'Shan Williams, is big, bold and full of synthy goodness. We've seen this destroy our underground basement in London and can't wait to see it on the bigger stages.

Adam Ten and Rafael land on DFTD with the modern club heater ‘Call 911’. Known for their lengthy and genre-expansive sets in the underground scene of their home countries, both are celebrated as artists in their own right; Adam Ten for his underground edge demonstrated during previous shows at fabric London, Club Space Miami, SXM Festival and Circoloco with upcoming sets at Junction 2 and Brunch Electronik for summer 2024. His sound reached a wider UK audience with the release of ‘Toys’, in collaboration with Rafael in April 2024, with a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix also landing around the single. The Beatport #1 also attracted much attention for Rafael, with a recent US and Latin America tour cementing him as a heavy hitter internationally. Now collaborating once more, this time on London’s DFTD, the pair unveil ‘Call 911’, a techy, frenetic, and powerful club track that is sure to make an impact.

Prolific Polish duo Catz ‘n Dogz return to DFTD with ‘Fired Up’, featuring Dope Earth Alien’s unmistakeable vocal. The house, disco and electro DJs and producers have just celebrated two decades of chart-topping releases and international shows with a special remix compilation on their own label, ‘20 Years Of Catz ‘n Dogz’ on Pets Recordings; the label bosses are also heading to Defected Croatia 2024 for an anniversary boat party like no other. Following their two-track DFTD releases ‘Inner Revelation’ and ‘No Regrets’ in 2020 and 2021 respectively, Greg and Voitek return to the London club label with prolific dance vocalist Dope Earth Alien; also a DFTD returnee following recent club hits ‘That Sound’ with Deeper Purpose & GUZ and ‘Tempo’ with OFFAIAH. The Soulful Techno king Gabriel Ananda makes his Truesoul debut with a re-master of his 2006 classic ‘Doppelwhipper’. The package also comes with two brand new remixes from Drumcode favourite Marco Faraone and the hotly tipped Layton Giordani. 

The EP opens with Marco Faraone’s remix, which samples Kings of Tomorrow’s ‘KOT Anthem (Soul Vision Remix)’. This takes ‘Doppelwhipper’ to dizzy new heights, keeping the obscure roots of the track and adding a rolling bass line that will bring any dancefloor to sheer hysteria. Next up is a re-master of Ananda’s seminal ‘Doppelwhipper’, a track which has well and truly stood the test of time. A connoisseur of the uncommon, his curious sounds float through almost 10 minutes of pure hedonism. Closing out the package is Layton Giordani’s interpretation of the track that is set to be a firm club favourite. Pounding through the gears, this one will do some real damage.
