Gator Boots Volume 1 comes at you live n' direct representing a sonic snap shot of contemporary American pop music, fused with an underground application. "Prototype" might not be the one, but it certainly comes close, leading to ecstatic dancefloor reaction. "Umi Says" shine your light on the world with a deep 4x4 cut that fills the crowd with emotion aka that warm fuzzy feeling. "Brothers Gonna Work It Out" insists that its time to clean up the pimps and the pushers at the same time with breakbeat house beat that's rough and ready for primetime. "Done It Again" explores the softer side of Grace Jones is edited and expanded into blissful moments of psychedelia.

Their take on house tends towards the nostalgic and musically expansive, and the four tracks assembled here fit that description. They begin by joining the dots between Kerri Chandler style garage-house and dreamier European deep house on 'Keep On Dreamin' (Club Mix)', before expertly fusing elements of new age house, Italo-house and solo-laden US deep house on 'Sunrise (Underwater Mix)'. Ron Trent takes on the mighty Skymark original, and elevates the listener to a whole other place like only he can. Trent treats us to one his deepest, dubbiest jams to date - embracing the strength of the song while interweaving his own rhythm throughout. 

The original track, here on the flip, featured on Skymark's 2015 'Wave From The Nucleus' LP- a beautiful song from the sun-kissed Swiss musician and producer who resided in Rio de Janeiro for many years, and now in Barcelona. 

A real meeting of minds - both artists express their love for the deep and organic, incorporating Brazilian sounds, gospel, disco, jazz and soul in their music. Their similar, detailed approach and ideology blend perfectly on this 12” release.
