Italian artist Samuele Scelfo is next to land on Hot Creations with his two-track release My Father in Ibiza 1988, which is inspired by his father’s unique vinyl collection that he bought on the White Isle almost thirty years ago. Samuele explains that “dedicating the EP to him was the least I could do.” 

First up is Hygge, a trippy affair with prominent and infectious vocal hooks. Samuele reveals “when I made Hygge I wanted to create a stylish atmosphere that reminds me of the late 80s, with iconic toms and synths that balance the female vocal. Once I made those main sounds, I created the low end and the drums to let the track perform well in a club scenario.” Next up, Don't Mess is a heavy-duty roller made for the late night dance floor. “For this track, I brought out my darker side. I really wanted to reach Jamie Jones’ strange and unique sounds, combined with a hammering groove and a synth, which drives the listener throughout the record.” 

Born in Florence, Samuele Scelfo has always been a lover of music. As a full time resident at Morositas Club in Siena (Italy), within a few years he brought his sound to some of the best Italian and European clubs, sharing the booth with many of the greatest artists in the underground scene. His releases can be found on influential labels such as Relief, Elrow Music, Snatch!, Müse, Deeperfect and Wow! Recordings. He also has an army of supporters that include Jamie Jones, Marco Carola, Green Velvet, Matthias Tanzmann, Lee Foss, Michael Bibi, Gorgon City and many others.

We’ve got a label debut this December on Pirate Copy’s Kaluki Musik from Dutch DJ and producer, Simon Kidzoo, who teams up with fellow Dutch artist, Rob Stillekens, to deliver their debut ‘Keep Movin’ EP.

Having grown up with a love of House music, Simon Kidzoo has spent the last few years honing his sound and experimenting with different styles and genres. Rob on the other hand is a relative newcomer to the scene, kickstarting his DJ career in 2020 after winning a remix competition for Mike Morrisey, citing the influence of Richy Ahmed, Joey Daniel, wAFF and Iglesias as inspirations for his productions.

Between the two artists, they have built up an impression catalogue of releases on lauded labels including Toolroom, Club Sweat, Nervous, Big Beat, Armada, Etiquette, Saved and Nothing Else Matters, to name a few. The ‘Keep Movin’ EP showcases both artists signature sound and style combining Rob’s percussive grooves and deep basslines with Kidzoo’s crisp drums, grooving low-end and complex percussive rhythms throughout. With support already flooding in on the title track from Marco Carola and Ilario Alicante, you can expect to hear this on dancefloors across the club circuit this festive season.
