Originally from Hannover, Mat.Joe are up next on Hot Trax with a release that is straight up raw techno at it’s best.

German production duo delivers two killer new tracks for a great Hottrax double-header. Nonstop Nonsense is a massive barnstormer of a track, that’s been massive for Jamie Jones; it’s a bit of a beast! Dat Cream is a refreshing bass driven rib rattler of a track grabbing you by the scruff of the neck and shaking you senseless.

Joining forces to create a formidable duo are best friends Matze and Johannes. After bonding over a mutual love for hip-hop, breakdance and skateboarding they soon started to produce music together. Having previously released on Defected, Snatch!, Gruuv and OFF Recordings among others, this release is their debut on the grittier Hot Trax imprint.

We look back at Aspot’s appearance on Chilean label Agua y Sed and understand his worldly vision towards the musical involvement.

As a part of our comeback, we have him walking us through his minimalistic side. Obscure portions are being served from the beginning of it and immerse into something complex yet comfortable, bringing a more aquatic sounding. Some will call it darkness but as of ourselves, we say it’s more of a laboratory designed hour which comes with punctuated and hard kicks over constricted bass lines. Pinned with tumbling shots, alienated vocals partitions, and kinetic blends, this exposure of Aspot’s is one to be remembered as his alter ego breaks in along the whole piece. 

He definitely gets an A for Ambiguity from us.

Ryan walks in to my studio one day and starts talking into the mic, not realising I was recording. The first part of this recording ended up in the outro of ‘Fool For Your Love’, from my first EP. It landed perfectly in that spot. 
“you” continued talking, as if hosting a fictional radio show, when an imaginary Harriet Tubman decided to join us. I genuinely had no idea who Harriet Tubman was, asking ‘Who’s Harry Tubman?’

An hour later we were in our pyjamas sitting on Ryan’s living room floor, building the song on my laptop.
